I think freeperville is in it's last throes
I remember when it was impossible to counterfreep online polls and we did this one with ease! http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=884229&mesg_id=884229

I also notice their fundraiser isn't going too hot, today is the last day and they haven't even reached half of their goal.

I really beleive people are jumping ship!

1. There was a thread yesterday with a link to FR's "Island of Lost Toys..."
Lemme see if I can find it...

20. Pretty juicy, isn't it?
I found one post about fundraising tactics used at FR but I can't find it any longer. It seems donations are dwindling at FR. Someone who had observed one particular fundraising drive noticed that, as the total of the donations had clearly become stagnated, the goal was met with what seemed to be an incredulous amount to make up what was needed.

21. ...and that check was signed by Richard Mellon Scaife...
Of couse, I have no way of knowing that for sure, but he's the kind of psycho that would float a shitbag org like FR.

22. That's along the lines of what they suspected.
I don't remember if Scaife's name was mentioned, but they suspected a bail out from some honcho.

26. Looks like Fox's Mark Levin, Tony Snow and Hannity are all Freepers
I followed a link from the ex-freeper site to a FR thread where a poster was banned for 'smearing' freeper/Fox News reporter Mark Levin who jumped into the thread right at the beginning to defend his honor!! He's the poster 'holdonnow'

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1595284/posts?q=1&&page=1

So much for fair and balanced.

The thread went on for days, with JimRob kicking the OP off early in the thread.

Later in the thread, Mark Levin tells another poster that he 'was a freeper long before he was a talkshow host'!

This is Fox News! The freeper, Mark Levin, according to other freepers, is 'one of the good guys' because they first met him when they all went to DC to march for Clinton's impeachment!!

He's been a freeper since it began, they say over there. So, Murdoch went trolling for talkshow hosts at Freeperville and then called his 'news' channel 'Fair and Balanced?

I think we ought to send this thread to Randi Rhodes or Mike Malloy ~ it's time for Fox to lose that Fair & Balanced claim! Hannity apparently stopped posting there because he got tired of how mean they were, like he has nothing to do with that!

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1595284/posts?q=1&&page=1

I'm surprised they didn't pull that thread ~ maybe someone should save it if they know how!

29. I had forgotten about the Hannity comments about FR.
Like he's any better than they are.

Supposedly, the neocons & the Schiavo whackos are the majority at FR. The ones who were banned & went to the new site seem to be focused mainly on immigration issues.

3. Hate is a powerful drug
especialy for the young. I doubt they'll go under, but they will find themselves restricted more and more to the semiliterate angry white male cohort. The literate ones have already discovered even worse websites.

4. Online polls simply are not worth the effort to "freep" anymore because
they are meaningless. Most people even, freeptards recognize this.

Just where do freepers jump ship to?

Remember their counterdemonstration when Cindy Sheehan was in DC last year?

Something like a dozen freepers showed up.

13. I don't recall them ever getting more than a dozen or so for anything
Well....unless you count the LA Marathon crowd, which they did once.

14. But that's typical of a freeper demo.

The Port-a-Potties always outnumber the freepers by about 5 to 1.

... of hate and paranoia. The bitter ones are probably more comfortable being the radical fringe anyway. There they can wax nostalgic over the "good old days" (pre-Civil War) while they wait in vain for the "End Times".

You ever notice how short a shelf life Fascism has?

9. they are just dormant, they live in an Aprioi Loop, they come to the same
conclusion regardless of where or what the input is posited.

they may have lost some of the wind out of their sails, but they are just as bigoted as they always were, they have about as much chance of being enlightened as a hard core alcoholic has for getting sober.. about one in seven after 20 to 30 years of f*cking up.

it would only take about 2 or 3 months of meditating to turn them around, max,... maybe as little as 3 weeks... the cure is art, learning to play a musical instrument, repetitious exercise.. and meditation.. you cant help them, they have to hit rock bottom just like every other addict.

10. Regarding the low total for their latest fundraiser:
The casino boat is late getting in to port where the boys from the Venice airport are waiting to board and grab that package and get it on its way to Sacramento.

11. I've noticed their fundraisers
On nearly every occasion the graph moves slowly all week, rising only to about half way....then zooms to the 100% mark on the last day.

I think I figured that out.
Freedom ain't free, but Freepers are cheap asses.

17. There is only so much toxic Kool-aid that a normal person
can drink before they start feeling sick. I imagine the hardcore loyalists are those who have become immune to the toxin, kind of like snake handlers who become immune to snake venom.

23. Can you imagine how embarrassing it is
to be a Freeper ??? I mean you gotta be pretty self-hating
to associate yourself with that pile of hate and ignorance.
Even the half wits have more sense than to hang around there much longer.

24. The only sad thing is that they broke up over immigration.
With all of the things going wrong right now, all of the problems knocking the country about with this drunken clown at the rudder, it's the "wedge issue" that was supposed to lock in the GOP's 2006 mid term elections that is breaking up their own base. What a surprise that all the legislation about immigration was suddenly killed last week.

Note that they do not differ about whether to abuse immigrants, they differ about how MUCH to abuse them.
