a new, gender-neutral Bible translation from Zondervan
The recent Today's New International Version of the Bible has received many complaints that this is a non-accurate, politically correct translation that denies the 'male-centered message' (my sarcastic framing of the objections) of the Bible.

The most frequently questioned translations are listed here

http://www.tniv.info/bible/sample.php

For an example of the 'new' translation, see

http://www.tniv.info/bible/sample_resultsingle.php?rowid=36

Genesis 5:2

NIV
He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man."

TNIV
He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "human beings."

Here it is again argued that "the TNIV incorrectly removes the male-oriented aspect of the name God gave the human race."

This allegation arises from a failure to make the elementary distinction between gender specific uses of a term and a generic use of the same term (see our comments on Genesis 1:16-27). As used in Gen 5:2, 'adam is clearly a collective generic (in distinction from the gender-specific and personal name references in chaps. 2-4), and such generics carry no gender overtones. To be noted also is that the traditional English rendering of 'adam here, namely "man," was also used as a generic term for the human race, and as a generic term carried no gender coloring (originally the English word "man" had only a generic meaning; later it came to be utilized also as a way of referring to male human beings).

As you can imagine, there's a lot of 'fighting' going on over this translation.
