Question about the West Wing - spoiler if you've not seen it yet
Have the freepers complained, already, about Hollywood bias in a Democrat winning the elections, and without California but with Nevada?

2. I have problems with last nights show
Vinnick was made to look like a nice guy. Hollywood Bias? Republicans are scum and should be depicted as such. Also, his religiously insane political advisor was played by a relatively attractive lady. Total fiction. Something that looked closer to Phyllis Schafly would have been more appropriate (or obvious botox or plastic surgery marks.)

I also found the spontaneous celebrations of winning states shortly after the news of Leo's death was announced a bit disturbing. The body wasn't even cold.

It has been a great show but I think it has run its course. Mother's Day will be the last show.

4. What I'm going to have a real problem with is when they announce Vinnick
as the VP ala Kerry/McCain.

21. Calm Down! LoL, just speculation on my part, but seriously, how many
Kerry things do they have to drop into the storyline? I've been informed that my speculation is way off mark.Just the feeling I got is all.

6. Vinick was always portrayed as a nice, decent guy
hence the fiction. No Republican, who refused to play the church card - remember, last year. before he even got the nomination when he refused to have a photo-op in church? - can get the nomination.

Some of us wonder whether he will be offered the V.P. post. I think that thee was at least one case where the President and the V.P. were from different parties, when each was voted separately.

7. Original plot was Vinick (the republican) to win
The NYT has a piece where the producer discussed that Vinick was going to win. After John Spencer died, the producers changed the plot line to make Santos the winner. It was thought that it would be too sad for Santos to lose his running mate and the election.

9. Ok, I can buy that BUTTTTT, I remember the first episode of the season.
Didn't that basically give it away as a Santos win? Didn't Josh walk in to the Bartlett Museum as a part of the new President's advance team? Am I just imagining that?

10. Or if it was a loss, Josh went back to work for Bartlett...
until the end of the term.

It could be read either way, I think.

11. No, because that was a "flash forward" scene. It was after the Bartlett
Admin. at the opening of the Bartlett Presidential Library, so a few years after he left office. He (Bartlett) was already in the library talking to all the members of his WH staff, then Josh walks in as part of the advance team and they fade out when you see the President's foot step out of the limo, so you didn't know who the President was but it couldn't have been Bartlett.

I guess you could have read it as Josh working in some fashion for the Vinnick admin, but would you really buy that? Josh is way too Democratic for that.

12. There's no way of knowing if Josh was a part of the advance team
He walked in and said the president was coming. That's it. For all anyone knew, he was there as a friend of Bartlett.

I never read it either way because it was too vague of a scene.

13. I obviously don't have the exact footage at hand, not until the DVD set
comes out, but I'm pretty sure the implication was that he was a part of the new President's team. He wasn't with the departed staffers, he came from the opposite end of the library-the direction the President was coming from, and he said the President was coming as if he was a part of the scheduling and to announce it to everyone inside. They didn't flat out say it I'll give you that, but it was pretty well insinuated. I really wish I had that footage now, because I swear it was hidden in plain site.

14. I only watched it once...
and I honestly couldn't be sure how to take it. My gut said Santos, but I knew better than to trust it when it comes to TV. I've been wrong before.

Lawrence O'Donnell said they originally planned on Vinnick winning, but when John Spencer died they decided against two blows by having Santos lose. A bittersweet ending with losing Leo and a Santos win is better.

My big question is:

Who will Santos pick as a VP?

Who else could it be that's been a prominent character? I guess they wouldn't have to go with an existing character, but hey why not?

16. I didn't take it that he was part of an advance team. We knew he'd
left working within the administration to work on Santos' campaign. I just assumed he hadn't come back and was coming in as a friend of the President. I didn't in any way think that he was part of an advance team.

19. I enjoyed watching Josh (don't know the actor's name) break up
over Leo. He was always so stoic and tough. I really enjoyed seeing this actor dig deep and let it hurt him. Beautiful.

They had to celebrate because it was what Leo wanted (winning the presidency). Leo never wanted the job, just to keep the dems in power.

So, they had to celebrate, and I was OK with that.

Next week will be hard to take, though. snif.
