I am probably behind on this story, but I remember the minting of official Ronald Reagan dimes was beaten back after Nancy Reagan rejected the idea. But I just saw an ad on CNN for the first time, selling commemorative editions of the Ronald Reagan dime "answering the call of the people" or some shit. Good Lord, how low are these people prepared to go?
Literally :puke:

3. you mean the ronald reagan who said Iran would never have our Country |
|
by the short-hairs again; while riding his little acting, whitey-tighty ass to victory in 1980. Taking advantage of the oil cartels putting the screws to us, only to turn back the cafe standards installed by Carter and build the military machine wasting billions and trillions.....instead of a vision of oil independence and R&D...
oh, don't get me started, Ronald Reagan dimes my fuc***ing ass...

4. Reagan on a U.S. dime? |
|
Wouldn't you have to have been--you know--sort of a loyal American to end up being put on any of America's currency?
Reagan should be on whatever the dime of China or Saudi Arabia is, for all the American debt to those countries that he created.

5. There was some one in Congress that was going to do this----- |

Put RR name on some thing either every week or month. I thought it was sort of crazy. Well I did read he can not go up on Mount Rushmore as the stone left would not work for a new face. Thank God for nature. Lets wait and see if this RR was really a good President before we do all this stuff. I am hardly over the 80's as it is.

"a fool and his money are soon parted" . . .
All those that think they're getting something collectible are probably getting something that's worth less than an new arcade token . . .

8. Simply refuse to use them, like we did the the one-dollar coins. |
|
If they pile up at the banks because you take all the ones you get as change and turn them in at the bank, and enough other people do it, they'll get the message.
I intend to do just that.

There is a car wash in my town that uses them instead of tokens. So if you put in a fiver and only need three, you have leftovers that wind up in circulation in town. Similarly, there is a seafood market that always issues change in two-dollar bills. Other merchants in town joke when you use them, "Oh, I see you had lunch at City Fish today!"
Personally, it baffles me as to why people are so unwilling to spend dollar coins or two-dollar bills. We are such creatures of habit...there doesn't seem to be a rational reason, imho. It's just fucking money! It all spends.

13. I like the $2 bill, but I can't find any. The dollar coin? Who knows why |
|
Americans simply refuse to use them. We'll let the Government get us into stupid wars, invade our privacy, and dismantle the damn Constitution, but they'll get our dollar bills when they pry them from our cold, dead fingers.
I havent's yet figured out why.

In strip clubs now. When you go to get change, a number are now giving it in $2 bills, better for the girls.

They're "collector" coins, and probably not worth 10¢.

9. In the not too distant future |

The U. S. Mint will be producing a coin with all the dead presidents on it in sequence. Kinda like the state's quarters issuance. I'm not sure which denomination it will be but the Mint is looking ahead for another money maker from collectors since the state's quarters have been a big moey maker for the mint.

Those are the ones. This is just to get around the fact that they lost the fight to eradicate the FDR dime, the real dime, the fuckers. It's ridiculous, yes, but infuriating, too.
