Sources on Katrina Media Bias |
|
I have a student and a local campaign manager who are interested in the following questions:
Evidence of media bias in reporting Katrina. (I.e., Blacks looted, Whites took food to survive; exaggerated stories of Black violence, passivity, etc.)
Evidence of ongoing national bias the media exposed. (More than West's Shrub doesn't care about Blacks, but examples of the ongoing stereotyping (Momma Shrub's comment, perhaps - but more than the bushits, the revelation that many still view Blacks (and others) as second-class citizens).
Consequences for the national psyche.
They're looking for things like newspaper reports, op-ed, magazine articles, scholarly studies, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure I've seen something similar on there before.
