For all those Protesting about Immigration Policy...there are Corporatist
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 05:49 PM by KoKo01
Influences in the thousands of perfect little flags, the Pre-Printed Signs and the Media's total coverage of these protests as opposed to HOW the MSM covered the MASSIVE MILLIONS who Protested before the Iraq Invasion and During the Invasion, and ever SINCE the INVASION.

Wouldn't it have been great if Cindy Sheehan had this much attention to HER Protest of the DERANGED INCOMPETENTS running our Country?

What if all the Dems who are supporting the Protests about Immigration could have supported US/WE who took time off and had our own painted signs and took time off work and paid for our "poster board, magic markers and the rest" to go out there in our Massive Protests and the small ones that continue every weekend ALL OVER AMERICA!!!!

Those of us who go to our "candle light vigils" and the weekly protests where NO MSM EVERY COVERS OUR PROTESTS!

So much HYPOCRACY....Pitting Immigration which get's MEGA COVERAGE against sending OUR NATION TO WAR....very little coverage and most of it negative.

It makes me  and it makes me :grr: It makes me wonder why I bother.... it makes me want to WORK HARDER! A MIGHTY FIST!!!!!

1. Nothing like threatening to deport one's parents to get people
into the streets.

4. The BFEE and the media CEO's maintain their war on working US citizens.
This immigration is a straw man do distract us from aWoL's LIES and INCOMPETENCE. If they wanted to stop the illegal immigrants they would fine the companies that hire them. you will not hear that from the talking heads.

9. There were hundreds of thousands of marchers against the war in virtually

Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 06:26 PM by BrklynLiberal
every city on one day, and almost a million people in DC.
Almost no mainstream media coverage.
I was at the DC march and a friend of mine was searching all day for coverage on the media at home. She finally found a little bit of coverage on CNN or CSPAN.I cannot remember which one it was.

What you see and hear is determined more by the BFEE and the CEO's of the media than by anything else.

screwing us every which way he and his corporatist cronies can, so they make sure the media is saturated with stories about, and pictures of, the immigration protests.

18. I know.....
"MSM" RULES...even after all this time when "wiser DU'ers" should know better it's the same old deal..the same old "drill."

but, I think it's important to keep posting and vocalizing about it...even if only a few folks "get" or "try" to understand.

 We do what we have to do...and what we "can do" to keep a message out there for how WE THE PEOPLE are being SO CORRUPTED!

6. Thank you!
And as I keep asking:

Who will protect undocumented workers from the millions more waiting to come here and compete for THEIR jobs?

Will La Raza, the Catholic church, and latino radio mobilize the amnestied workers back out into the streets for immigration reform that protects THEIR jobs?

Will Bill Gates go BACK to DC and ask for a cap on H1B visas so that his newly hired cheap techie workers won't have to compete for THEIR jobs?

:eyes:

The Corporation is winning.

8. Pre-printed signs = illegitimate?
That line about the pre-printed signs really cracked me up. Because if that is the determination of legitimacy....

...then Houston....

....we have a problem.

These protests are setting records in place not known for protesting; San Diego, LA, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Salt Lake City etc. Immigrants have finally had enough of the scapegoating. This is very much a source a pride amonst the Chicano population here in San Diego.

I can understand being a little envious of the coverage and a little suspicious of MSM, but to go to the lengths to actually denigrate the protests...I just don't get it.

Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 05:50 PM by spanone
You can bet your butt they are helping organize these rallies. The last thing an Corporate America wants to do today is deal with Americans who want real wages.

Hang in there, these bastards are haning themselves, slowly but surely.:hippie:

15. My State of NC is continuously ABUSING Hispanics...they work and build
all the new growth that My State thinks will get the Baby Boom Retirement Community to move and stay HERE instead of FLORIDA!

I'm Inland...and it's even WORSE on the Coast. The "smart ones" will retire away from "hurricanes" they think...but still be close enough to RENT the MEGA MANSIONS FOR BIG BUCKS.

This is ALL built on the BACKS of BUSH ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! Just as the IRISH AND THE ITALIANS WERE ABUSED...but THEY HAD TO HAVE SPONSORS AND PAPERS and go through ELLIS ISLAND!

These Workers come in on CORPORATE TRUCKS. I don't blame THEM...I blame THEM WHO ARE USING AND ABUSING "Them." :-(

11. Also, don't forget that spanish-speaking media have promoted
this tirelessly.

It's not enough to call people racist, now anti-war protesters are being thrown over the side in an attempt to defend corporate-sponsored cheap labor protests.

All the spin is making me dizzy.

I assume the dems will pay the price for this in November but I'm increasingly convinced that this is entirely acceptable to the liberal half of the corporate duopoly.

16. What worries me "SadiesWorld" is WHO or WHOM is supporting the
"Spanish Speaking Media Organizers."

Who allowed all the Illegals working for the Chiken and Beef and Salad Processing, Restaurant Processing Food Industry to allow these "workers" days off to PROTEST!!!

What's IN IT FOR THE CORPORATISTS...

Why are Airline Pilots and the White Collar Workers SOOOOOO AFRAID to do PROTESTS like "Students in France" and "Illegal and Legal Hispanic Immigrants?" :eyes: :banghead: :grr:
