Iranian President Promises ‘Good Nuclear News’ Soon!!
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 06:10 PM by AGENDA21
TEHRAN, 11 April 2006 — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed yesterday he would not back down “one iota” over Iran’s nuclear program, again rejecting a UN Security Council demand for Tehran to freeze sensitive enrichment work. In a defiant speech, Ahmadinejad also promised “very good nuclear news in the coming days” — just as International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed El-Baradei is scheduled to visit the Islamic republic.

“Be certain that the government which serves you will follow the wishes of the people with wisdom and strength, and will not back down one iota,” the president said in a speech carried live on state television. “Our enemies know they are unable to even slightly hurt our nation and they cannot create the tiniest obstacle on its glorious and progressive way,” he insisted. “They cannot stop our nation.”

A military official said the “good news” concerned developments in enrichment work. The deputy head of Iran’s atomic organization, Mohammad Saidi, said an IAEA team was visiting a uranium ore conversion plant at Isfahan and would later visit an enrichment facility at Natanz.

Forget oil--think of the patents!

Of course, I would want to verify that it actually works.

5. Yeah right
If this is scientifically true I WILL give you everything I own. Not a lot but that idea is impossible.

Iran is a backward fucked up country where half its population is excluded from science, and normal life in general, and you think they have solved one of the most complex physical problems today.

They do not have the computing powered to model the autocad drawings for a reactor to contain the reaction, never mind the model of the reaction itself

6. How insulting!
I was an AFS exchange student to Tehran a couple decades ago. Granted, it was during the last days of the Shah's reigh, but over these past 2+ decades, I've kept in regular contact with my host family -- who are not-very-religious Shi'ite muslims -- by letter, phone, email, and VOIP (voice over internet, i.e Google Voice Chat).

I had no idea my host family were so backward. I guess their home computers and internet access as well as DVD players, etc had me fooled.

Since when are women are women excluded from science and "normal Life" -since that's the "half its population" you're referring to? Interesting since some of the female children and grandchildren in my host family are studying at University ... and I know of NONE of them being excluded from specific majors. There are many female engineers and scientists in Iran. Stop talking out of your ass.

You may have wanted to imply that their research capabilities are "behind ours" or something of that sort, but don't go around implying that Iran is like Afghanistan with its Taliban, because I can assure you, FIRST HAND, it is not.

There are stupid rules put in place by the mullahs, but if you think people haven't found ways to skirt every one of these rules, then you're the backward one here. People manage to lead rather normal lives over there, yeah ... even the female half of the population.

The young people over there are on the internet, play video games, get all the current U.S. movies and music (unfortunately it's via black market means) on DVD/CD, they have satellite dishes on their houses and one of the most popular TV shows in Iran in the last few years was "Friends".

Yeah, they're really backward.

Sheesh...
