That was Senator Graham right now talking about why Senators shouldn't cast their votes depending on who judges may have represented in the past. He was using Ginsberg and the ACLU as an example. You know, that radical left wing organization? Gotta love Republicans. :sarcasm:

1. Has Rush L. shut his trap since the ACLU helped him?

3. Nah, even as little as I'm exposed to him,
I heard him giving ACLU down the river.

4. Probably not. He probably uses that fact against them
"They help degenerates and drug addicts no matter how hopeless they are, and no matter how many laws they have broken! They even tried to help me!"

LOL.

Reminds me of one of my favorite Simpsons episodes, "Sideshow Bob Roberts". Any DUer who hasn't seen this episode must.

Sideshow Bob runs for Mayor against Mayor Quimby, and a Rush Limbaugh parody character helps get Bob out of Prison so he can run.

Then, Sideshow Bob runs an attack ad portraying Quimby as soft on crime.

"Mayor Quimby supports relvoving door prisons, and even released Sideshow Bob from jail, a man twice convicted of attempted murder. Vote Sideshow Bob for mayor."

5. It always astounds me that the fascist right gets away with demonizing ...

... the ACLU. There is no more steadfast and reliable organization in this country in the business of supporting the Constitution in the manner it was intended - defining the boundaries and limits of government power to abridge human rights and civil liberties. It appalls me that people are called "strict constructionists" when they find all manner of federal powers and new ways to infringe on the exercise of human rights. There can be nothing less 'strict' than the constant elimination of limits over delegated powers. Their sole provision for private liberties is corporate - big money with big power. How can anyone not see this as outright fascist?

6. Reason on one side, insane fascist anticonsitutionalists on other.....
Why not just split the middle? When your candidate is elected, he can nominate judges that follow the law. When our candidate steals an election, he can nominate judges that will follow his every whim.

Fair enough?

7. That's right. . .Graham is one of the guys who only vote for people
who represent the religious wingnut legal organizations that run around the country declaring the "war on Christmas." They hate the ACLU for one reason and one reason ONLY....the words "civil liberties"...

They would much rather support people who worked for theocratic legal organizations.

8. You mean the one that Rush Limbaugh used?
So does that mean Rush is now supporting a leftwing organization? I didn't know caring about the Constitution was only a leftwing thing!
