A Long Way Up Shit Creek
Like the cigarette commercial from the '70's, you've come a long way Baby. America had gone from the outhouse to the penthouse and Bill Clinton was in the White House. We had finally balanced our budget. They thought it couldn't be done. But in 6 short years, under the leadership of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, America was looking at a surplus. She was looking at five trillion in the black for the next decade. Unemployment was at 4%.

Then along came Jones. Goodbye to the surplus. Goodbye to good times. It was the people's money and, by God, he was going to see that his friends got all of it before he was thru. He was the cock of the walk and the world would do what he wanted or else. In 5 short years, he put us back in the hole to the tune of $3 trillion dollars. In the process, he threatened Social Security and the entire safety net that had been carefully created for the most needy in our society. Yes, we've come a long way, Baby. Anybody got a paddle?

2. He had a lot of help! Limpballs and the like were spewing that
crap long before the chimp! I well remember all the "the Gov't should NEVER run a surplus, if they have one, they're taxing too much!!!"

I also remember thinking we'd never get out the hole after Reagan. NOW, I know I'LL never see that day!

4. And the W supporters are responsible
Do you think they will ever hold themselves responsible for their idiotic support of W and their ruining our country?

5. "Along Came Jones" . . . the Coasters . . .
since you saw fit to mention him

I plopped down in my easy chair and turned on Channel 2
A bad gunslinger called Salty Sam was chasin' poor Sweet Sue
He trapped her in the old sawmill and said with an evil laugh,
"If you don't give me the deed to your ranch
I'll saw you all in half!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He turned on the bandsaw (and then, and then...!)

And then along came Jones
Tall thin Jones
Slow-walkin' Jones
Slow-talkin' Jones
Along came long, lean, lanky Jones

Commercial came on, so I got up to get myself a snack
You should've seen what was goin' on by the time that I got back
Down in the old abandoned mine, Sweet Sue was havin' fits
That villain said, "Give me the deed to your ranch
Or I'll blow you all to bits!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He lit the fuse to the dynamite (and then, and then...!)

And then along came Jones
Tall thin Jones
Slow-walkin' Jones
Slow-talkin' Jones
Along came long, lean, lanky Jones

I got so bugged I turned it off and turned on another show
But there was the same old shoot-'em-up and the same old rodeo
Salty Sam was tryin' to stuff Sweet Sue in a burlap sack
He said, "If you don't give me the deed to your ranch
I'm gonna throw you on the railroad tracks!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He threw her on the railroad tracks (and then)
A train started comin' (and then, and then...!)

And then along came Jones
Tall thin Jones
Slow-walkin' Jones
Slow-talkin' Jones
Along came long, lean, lanky Jones

cheers! :)

6. When he leaves office it will be 7 trillion
when you add the current account deficits. He has already borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 presidents combined.
