Scotty demands an apology from WP for "irresponsible" Iraq trailers report

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/12285521/

Apology demanded

McClellan dismissed the Post article and a report based on it that aired on ABC News Wednesday morning as irresponsible. He said ABC News should apologize and took issue with the way the Post story was written.

“The lead suggested that what the president was saying was based on something that had been debunked, and that is not true,” McClellan said. “In fact, the president was saying something that was based on what the intelligence community — through the CIA and DIA — were saying.”

McClellan said information for public reports from the CIA comes from many sources and takes time to vet.

“It’s not something that, they will tell you, turns on a dime,” McClellan said.

3. Phase I, standard operating procedure.
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 11:15 AM by quiet.american
Phase II, more evidence will be published to strongly back up the Post story. Scotty will then refuse to comment.

Phase III, yet more evidence will be published to back up the Post story, this time, irrefutable. No comment will be made by the WH.

Phase IV, a pundit debate will begin as to whether what Bush did was legal or illegal.

Phase V, Appropriate party hack chairman will draft legislation to give Bush more power.

Phase VI, on to the next scandal.

On edit: Forgot one other phase, at some point, Stephen Hadley will take responsibility for this, without any consequence whatsoever, and will be promoted at the next opportunity.

4. I always wonder what Snotty sees when he looks in the mirror.
He knows he's lying. We know he's lying. He knows we know. Obviously he doesn't have enough pride or integrity to care that he's going to be remembered as being a bigger douche bag than Baghdad Bob (what was that crazy little guy's name again??). Anyway, when he's an old man the only mark he will have made in this world, they only story he'll have for the grandkids (or the neighbor kids if he's a friend of Jimmy/Jeff's) is that he's one of the biggest and worst liars that ever used up good oxygen.

12. I've become convinced that the Neocons believe that
if their opponents come to power that we will turn over the country to terrorists. It is imperative that they stay in charge at any cost. Similar to my belief that many fundamentalists (of any particulat religion) consider religious law superior to secular law, and therefore they can violate secular law.

This does not make for a very bright future, say around this Novemeber, or Nov. 2008.

5. Standard GOP tactic. I doubt it's gonna work this time.
And we know that the MisAdministration kept repeating
the 'trailer' lie for up to a YEAR after that report was filed.

So maybe Intel Vetting doesn't turn on a dime,
but Scottie's integrity could be covered by one.

6. I REJECT the WH's call for an apology. Case closed.
Isn't that how it works? Just say you "reject" it and then the issue is over? That is one thing I've learned from this WH.

7. So they just share before the vetting of the info is finished.
and when they find the info was bogus, they never take it back. Gee, how convenient. Take the info you like, put it right out there immediately, and never let the truth change the public story.

Yeah, I got your apology right here.

10. What a joke
Everything about this guy. Not just what he says but the way he carries himself physically at these press conferences, his body language, his tone of voice seem completely ridiculous to me. His press conferences are an absolute farce. They should just be cancelled altogether.
