Anybody Else's Gas Go Up Overnite?
The gas gnome struck again. Our prices jumped to 2.639 overnite - up from $2.439.

Our paper keeps saying that the price increases are not affecting demand but I don't believe it. I would bet you anything that people are being more careful about where they drive. I know I think about it.

So if it hits $3.00 will it affect our economy? Don't know but I would say "yes."

4. it is already $3.00+ a gallon here
in California.

I did note the other day when I had to go to the store that the stations were empty.

It is affecting our economy. Those in power just don't want to admit it.

:dem: :kick:

6. Typical...it will increase to maximize profits and then suddently drop
just before the election so Americans with ADD forget about it and vote against their best interest. Its how it ALWAYS works.

7. Lube up, everyone! We're about to be raped again by the oil
companies. And our Republican leadership won't do a think to stop them. More multi-billion dollar profits for them, while we barely make ends meet.

That's compassionate conservatism. That's today's Republican Party.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY: WE RAPE. WE LIE. WE DESTROY. WE CONDEMN. That's the future with the Republicans.

Remember that in November.

to support those struggling oil companies. I'm thinking of having my paycheck direct deposited to Exxon's account.

9. Damn gnomes
Always stealing our keys, raising the price of oil. Maybe they're trying to tell us something.

That's the problem though, our entire society is set up for the car. Most people have no choice, and will have to cut down on other things before gas.

15. Do we know why it went up?
I saw something about the cost per barrel going up on uneasiness about Iran?

I think last time it was uneasiness about somewhere else.

16. Yea - and I think it's even higher out in Kansas - don't know why
Kansas is always higher than we are.

I have decided that since our own govt would never do that to us it must be gas gnomes.

What utter bullshit. Makes me feel like we have a state-owned media. Gah.

19. In our local paper there was a photo of one gas station actually
using "post-it notes" outside on the pump to keep up with the rapid change in prices. Un-freakin real.

21. Summer is coming.
And so oil companies are naturally getting ready to overtly laugh in our faces.

There is nothing we can do to stop them, since they, along with other transnational firms, pretty much run the world.
