Letterman / O'Liely "Freedom Fighters" comment (Cindy Sheehan) Question

Blotchy face made some comment about Cindy Sheehan calling the insurgents in Iraq "Freedom Fighters". I completely confused a fundy relative this weekend with the following logic:

Pres'nit Numnuts tells us "the terrorists hate us for our freedoms"

Question:
If the insurgents are fighting us, and we represent freedom, doesn't that make them "Freedom Fighters?"

Fundy Relative looked like a deer in the headlights when I presented it that way (obviously not realizing the generally accepted definition of Freedom Fighters)

The Sunnis are secular and distrust both the US occupation and the Shiite. They have no choice but to fight.

Nothing pisses off the right more than pulling FoxNews tactics back at them. That is why Fox calls the insurgents "terrorists".
