"Peace through strength".
Saw that billboard today.

We've been waving strength, but who is remaining peaceful?

Other countries seem more determined to spit in our faces.

And the peaceful are now scared and intimidated.

Being able to defend one's country is a good thing; it keeps others from wantonly attacking.

But when one wantonly attacks, the "strength" becomes the worst possible weakness.

Or am I just crazy?

1. Teddy Roosevelt had the right nuance on that...
..."Speak softly but carry a big stick".

Some people just don't know how to speak softly.

3. Orwellian?
"From where Winston stood it was just possible to read, picked out on its
white face in elegant lettering, the three slogans of the Party:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH"
-George Orwell, 1984

11. PEACE THROUGH WISDOM
Someday, it will dawn on us...maybe it will be too late, but someday...the bulb will go on, the light at the other end is not a speeding train, we will become obsessed with learning to the point of reducing IGNORANCE
