Does anyone have words of comfort regarding Bush and Iran? |
|
because I need it now. Until now, I never thought anyone actually wanted everyone in the world to die, except the occasional disturbed teenager. But the president of the fucking USA??? Can someone please give me evidence or at least a strong argument that Dumbass won't try to kill us all?

and Bush does manage to start a full-scale nuclear war...you'll probably be vaporized quickly and painlessly. That's all I've got. Sorry.

No, that doesn't sound very comforting either...

12. I think the oil corps and military will talk him out of it. |
|
There just aren't enough troops to get into the ground war that will result. Add to that the disruption of oil production in Iran and attacking Iran is untenable even by his Neo-con standards. Iran knows this and knows it can return his bluster back with impunity.

1. The government can never really say publicly military force is not an option, even if that is the case. Doing so would eliminate the weight of the threat. Bush will never publicly deny the use of military force whether he's thinking it or not.
2. We won't attack first. We can't afford to start a full-scale war against Iran and everyone knows it, even W. Doesn't matter if our military personnel and equipment are already "in the area", we simply cannot afford to start the nation-building process all over again in Iran. Now Mr. Bush understands what Colin Powell meant by "You break it, you own it." He can't afford to "own" Iran, too.
3. They won't attack first because they know if they do, the US will wipe Iran off the map, period.
Iran is calling our bluff because they know we've got our heads (and our wallets) buried in the sand next door to them and can't do shit about it. The result is that they expose the weaknesses of the Bush regime's "cowboy"-style foreign policy, not World War III. Surprise, W, in the real world, you don't have the money or the support to just beat up on everybody....

bright side is that if China becomes upset with the US nuking Iran, they need not waste their warheads, but can just call in their T-bills. China could kill the USA in a single day by destroying our economy completely.
