1. Not surprising. Americans are dumb, as an aggregate...
They're easily led to "believe" whatever the corporate media and the administration want them to believe.

8. Yes, they are..
Indeed.. for bearing with illegals and doing things for them that no other country in this world would ever do, they are indeed dumb and stupid.

19. I agree
I work in a hospital and we offer a great deal of free care to illegal aliens--I'm glad we do it because they are here and they need it. We as a country do a great deal for illegal aliens.

3. You just can't get rid of them
The undocumented Hispanics who are here are just going to be here. No legislation is going to send them back to Mexico.

If Americans are so concerned about the borders, then money needs to be spent to set up some type of organized entry from the southern border into the U.S. But if we continue to deny entry, then they will continue to find a way to sneak in.

4. This is why it's an "issue" right now.

The only thing that may save the repubs. As Dems march with the illegals, Repugs can once again paint them into a corner.

I can see it now:
"Dems support illegal immigrants, they want our borders open, allowing terrorists to kill us, and illegals to overburden our public assistance programs - which they will raise taxes to support".

Exactly
Dems are pinning themselves into a corner, by endorsing extreme left's stance on this issue.

22. They won't be framed in terms of 'human rights'

They will be: Dems support ILLEGAL immigration. Which according to the poll 86% of people oppose.

It won't matter that they're wrong. It won't mater that they manipulate the moderate approaches we've come up with.

Do you not remember the swiftboat ads?

I think it was a bad political move for Kennedt et al. to make a speech at a rally that supported illegal immigration. This WILL bite us in the ass, hopefully not enough to make a difference.

23. Do you not remember that no matter what position Dem leaders
take up, they are personally attacked?

Do you not remember the swiftboat ads? What "leftist" position did John Kerry take up to draw those?

Thank God we still have real statemen like Ted Kennedy who have the balls to stand up for the working poor in this country.

(Are they like the Loony Left?)

Which Democrats have proposed opening all the Borders? Mostly, I've heard moderate ways of dealing with immigration.

6. Yep, I can see the ads already.
They'll be running 24/7 from Spetember until the election. Ted Kennedy's speech and the Mexican flag will figure prominently. I hate to be cynical, but I've been watching Republicans in action for a long time.

9. No, "not very surprising at all"...from Numbers USA.
The organization favors extremely limited immigration of all kinds. It wants zero population growth--but only in the USA. Let's just ignore the rest of the world--perhaps all those folks will just disappear.

So--they cherry-picked some poll results that support their beliefs. Lots of them from Fox, I see.

A nice, polite facade. But the same old story: http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/1528

15. I suspect the dislike of "illegal" immigrants is broad but shallow
Although if the media keep hammering on the issue I bet we can get a sizeable percentage of poll respondents to say that it is the nation's number one problem.

Okay, okay, I'm making it up.

86% would rather pay $250,000 for their new home than $350,000.

95% want to have their cake and eat it, too.

36% couldn't find Mexico on a map of North America.
