Cindy Sheehan: "This is fucking barbaric & continuing in our names"

A Message from Cannon Fodder in Iraq
by CindySheehan
Mon Jan 09, 2006 at 02:55:27 PM PDT

This is from a friend of mine whose son is in the Army, stationed in Baghdad.
And the Peace Community is accused of not supporting our troops???

This is fucking barbaric and we are letting this stuff continue in our names.
Excuse my launguage, but my friend almost became a Gold Star Mom on the 27th....
but for the grace of god or whatever, she didn't.
Our government is creating Gold Star Moms at a very rapid clip and the Iraqi people that they are klling or turning into people who have to fight to survive is obscene.

What are we willing to do to stop the inhumanity and war crimes?

Cindy

*WARNING* FYI.....This is pretty graphic.....

I was thrilled yesterday to wake to an email from Micah. The last
correspondence I had from him was the email on Dec. 26. Then 2 guys in his
battalion were killed and one wounded on the 27th (the wounded soldier has
since passed away from his injuries). All communications were shut down
until notification of their deaths by the Army to their families....but
still no word from Micah. I knew that he would contact us as soon as he
could...but that didn't make the waiting any easier. He emailed yesterday
to reassure me that he was "fine"....which of course I was glad to hear.
Then he called me later in the day.....

1. Maybe O'Reilly should go over and feed these kids
one hot dog a day with no bun (and cold to boot)

What a disgrace!

"I immediately knew when I started talking to him that he had a cold.....he
said, "Yeah, I do, but I'm ok." I asked if he was eating good....what did
they have for them to eat?....American food....Iraqi food? He said they get
ONE meal a day. A "meal" that is either a 6 inch cold pizza, or well, he
had 5 cold chicken wings one day, oh and a hotdog one day....well a lone
hotdog....no bun. One meal a day!!! Prisoners in this country are required
to receive 3 full meals a day in prison or it's infringing on their
rights??!!! He said they have 2 microwave ovens that are broken and a
toaster oven that doesn't work well....the government is apparently spoiling
them! Our sons and daughters are in the U.S. military.....fighting for our
country.....have committed no crimes and this is what they feed them???
It's like the Twilight Zone or some parallel universe.....a bad dream that
upon waking makes no real sense...."

One meal a day?????
Someone stop the madness.

5. Just had a friend whose daughter passed suddenly
She is in shock. Made me think of the insanity in Iraq. What stress a mother whose child is in harm's way must go through every time the phone rings or the dorbell rings.
In a just world no one would ever bury their child. But to have to bury your child because of some spoiled rich kid's delusions of grandeur is so unconscienable.

14. Yeah, she's reaping what she has sown.
Bad news is, more than half a nation are reaping too... (against their will).

She's no 'have-more' (she should have "lighten-up" earlier...)

We told her so.

17. Remember the Russians in Afghanistan?
The mother Sheehan got the email from says,
"Please feel free to forward this email to anyone and everyone you can! I feel helpless.....I want to jump on a plane like that 16 yr old from Florida
and grab my son and bring him home.....

When Russia was occupying Afghanistan, mothers of Russian troops were actually going there to bring their boys home, just as this mother fantasizes about doing.

Remember the "Desaparecidos" in Argentina? Crowds of mothers ocupied the Plaza Mayor in Buenos Aires to bear witness against the criminal government that had "disappeared" their loved ones.

Remember Cindy Sheehan in Crawford, Texas?

Perhaps this time, too, it will be the mothers who will return us at last to some semblance of sanity, so that we can bring their children home.

19. Excellent point you make
If the Mom's would unite, it would make this a difficult war to fight indeed.
Do you think this is probably the reason that they decided to demonize Cindy Sheehan early in the game?
Neutralize her.
Make it to where a grieving parent wouldn't want to stand with her because they weren't ready to be shredded by the RW noise machine so soon after their loss?
Just a random thought.

There is absoluetly no reason we cant be out of there in 6 months (or less but the face savers don't want to look like we're running). Our country has completely fallen beyond the pale.

32. MSM report reality? Surely you jest! Ain't gonna happen, unless
a bunch of soldiers feel comfortable enough to tell it like it is. And that would jeopardize them, so I have doubts about reading about it in the MSM. To me, that's why Cindy is so important; she's not going to let herself be muzzled.

34. They don't have to.
They're a fully-owned subsidiary of *corp and will never broadcast the reality, as Cindy's words are FACT. What's happening EVERY DAY in Iraq is FUCKING BARBARIC. However when that reality intrudes upon Americans' comfort zones we see threads like this:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x97692

Don't wanna see that! Much better to concentrate on Baby Noor! Forget the chick who got in the way or extrapolate to the DAILY atrocities that will never reach the status of Film at 11.

33. Can't believe that poor mom voted for the idiot twice!
Though she shouldn't blame herself too much, since Bush stole both elections in the first place! :grr:

It is sad and just totally pathetic that so many give lip service to "supporting the troops" when the truth of the matter is that to Bush & Co., the troops are nothing more than mere pawns.

Oh yeah, the rethugs think this war is "justified" because the so called "terrorists" (Saudis, not Iraqis, but what's the difference, right?!) killed Americans on American soil on 9/11.

HOWEVER, if everyone in this country KNEW the TRUTH about 9/11-if they KNEW that Bush & Co., either LET IT HAPPEN ON PURPOSE or MADE IT HAPPEN ON PURPOSE-what then?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would all those selfish, greedy, rethug bastards think this war was so great then?!

Or is this war really about annihilating muslims and just pure old fashioned racism?!

You said it Cindy-ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY FUCKING BARBARIC!!! :puke:

36. Sounds too familiar
My husband saw dogs beaten to death all the time in Iraq, was told he could finish college while in the army (he started straight out of high school but partied too much) but then they said there is no time and the classes he did take the army wouldn't pay for, and he came back so skinny I could barely stand to touch him. His skin literally hung on him. He has some wonderful stories about KBR/Halliburton which was in charge of food and some other stuff.
