GAS WAR: An idea that will work!? (Keeping gas prices down at pump)
Edited on Thu Apr-13-06 08:32 AM by wordpix
Here's an email I just received from a friend. Note it originally came from a retired Halliburton engineer.

GAS WAR - an idea that WILL work
This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola
executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies
who retired from Halliburton. It's worth your
consideration.

Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to
hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might
go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We
need to take some intelligent, united action.

> Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes
> MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain
> day" campaign that was going around last April or May!
> The oil companies just laughed at that because they
> knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by

> to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever
> thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can

3. gas
Don't give up on this idea, as it's a good idea to boycott exxon, if for no other reason then that exxon is one of the worst polluters in the world. It would be a better idea to get pledges from your reps. to break up the vertical monopoly that is exxon, like they did when Rockefeller owned all of it. Anyway these chain letters at least raise awareness.

4. I get your plan, and i'll be happy to pass it along!
I look at it this way if sending this email to a few people stops them from buying from Exxon Mobil, i've made a difference.

But i'm going to take it one step forward, i'm going to suggest they buy their gas from Citgo. That way we send two messages, and Citgo gas is usually a couple of pennies cheaper around here.

5. Sigh. Yawn. Chuckle.
DON'T drive one day per week.
Carpool. Rideshare. Plan your errands. Bike. Walk.
Get a small car or a hybrid.
