A Report From Enemy Territory. How Freepers Are Dealing With Iraq: |
|
They're not. There's a distinct paucity of threads concerning Iraq over in the Wasteland. Nothing on the escalating American death toll or the continued bombings. When there is a thread about Iraq, you can count the responses on the fingers of one hand. The only Iraq related threads that seem to be gathering a substancial number of responses are the ones about Generals calling for Rummy to resign. Those threads are hilarious; the generals are called all kinds of names, from candyass to Clintonista, but you can tell that underneath the bravado, the fact that these guys have broken rank is disturbing as all get out to the poor wittle fweepers.
All freeper energy is devoted to immigration and the thrillling prospect of bombing Iran in the near future. About the only thing, it seems, that would reinvigorate freeper support lost over immigration, is a good old fashioned bombing.

1. Well those libs lost Iraq for us already. |
|
Just like they lost Vietnam for us, so we have to move on to Iran without any lib getting in the way again. It's a good thing libs weren't running the government in WW II, or we would be speaking Japanese and German. :sarcasm:
Note - Yes, some actually believe the last sentence as well.

2. What about supporting the troops? |
|
It seems the freeps are the ones that have forgotten the war and the poor sods they sent off to fight it for them.

5. Nah, they haven't forgotten about it, |
|
it's just too difficult for them to deal with honestly and the burden of lying about how great things are there, appears too much for them. The troops have to get jettisoned within that frame.

13. It's always amusing when you stumble |
|
across someone over there who actually is thinking. There's a thread over there where someone posted some cheesy article about how chivalry was dead, and it's based on how noble all the men on the Titanic were, and how nowadays that sort of gallantry is dead. The responses are all about how it's the fault of the vile feminists, blah, blah blah, and how if something like the Titanic happened today, men and women would be fighting for seats in the lifeboats instead of men nobly ushering women an children off the sinking ship At the end of the thread there's this brief comment: "Fact: More first class men survived than 3rd class children." Heh.

and immediately prior to the bombing of Iran. Then the rethugs will get their willing sheep to follow them into the rapture.

Their answer for everything is war.
War in Iraq, maybe Iran, war on Christmas, Easter bunnies, Muslims, poor, elderly, the sick...

...after their heroes in power who have already had their bluff called, not only refuse to nuke Iran, but also reinstate the draft because the oil is still out there, and they need fresh troops for a two front war.
Then the macho talk will cease as they all start wetting their little diapers, and crawl under their beds to hide, emulating the very best behavior of their mentors Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill Oreilly
