1. My invite must be lost in the mail
I give them 10 bucks a month. I hope they use it wisely to get rid of Santorum. I've checked my social calendar and will have to pass on the Nantucket Gala.

2. Well, Bosshog, I have not given them a dime in several years.
My donations go directly to individual Senators--like Bernie Sanders in Vermont.

4. I've sent a few bucks to Casey in PA
I live in MS and will support the dem candidate running against Lott but that may be a poor investment. I'll turn off the spigot in November. If santorum loses, I'll be happy with my little investment.

3. I lived on Nantucket for 5 months- an expensive way to get tick bites!
Truly! I attended school there for a while and the place was crawling with ticks- you'd notice at least one a day, either lumbering away, engorged with blood or hooked on a friend. I atteneded 7th grade there.

They have state of the art schools- I learned more in 5 months there than I did in most of my biology classes (including the Advanced Placement ones) than I did in all of High School.

And yet we still found it necessary to groom each other like monkeys, looking for those ticks- and finding them!

5. That must have been the one I received the other day
From the DSCC. Tossed it, unopened, in the trash.

6. I'd only pay if Russ Feingold was there
I'm not sure if the rest are worth $26,700.

But Ted Kennedy being there makes it tempting.

8. I VOLUNTEER FOR DU ...I NEED DONATIONS
I volunteer to attend and report, in detail, the events, discussions etc., to the DU board.
If you are willing to sponsor me and the money is raised I will go as the DU rep.

I will pledge $1,000 so, I need 26 more at that level.

9. Your money would be better spent sending to individual Dem candidates.
This is the kind of excessive "pay to play" politics we need less of--especially since we call ourselves the party of the "little guy." I find this kind of party retreat for the "well-heeled" disquieting at best--obscene, at worst.

10. "...a retreat for the well-heeled".....
.... that's exactly what Nantucket has turned into.

When my kids were young, we used to spend two weeks in Nantucket. Rented a small cottage near Cisco beach for $100 per week.

I doubt if I could even afford the ferry passage these days.

11. Oh come on!!!! that's just pocket change....
and Nantucket...How could that be elitist? It's an old whaling island. Hard work.
New England ethics. Perfect!!!!

Just promise to send me some cash and I will bring an element of "the common touch" to
the affair.
