"CRAWFORD, TEXAS -- Peace activist Cindy Sheehan returned to Texas on Wednesday for another protest near President Bush's ranch, although he was to spend the weekend at Camp David.

About 50 war protesters accused Bush, who has spent every Easter at his ranch since he was elected, of running from them and their message to immediately bring U.S. troops home from Iraq.

The White House said that Bush's plans had nothing to do with the protesters and that he often spends holidays at Camp David with his family. The group's third Crawford protest in less than a year was to include vigils, a rally and a march."

finish a project, or this or that. We have to answer to our clients or bosses every single day at work. This clown just runs away from confronting his incompetence and stupidity. Makes me ill.

In the meantime, America slowly sinks into the sunset.

Man, I know it is not perfect where I am, but we don't have a certified idiot as leader of the country.

Some people will disagree with me, but it is all about money and power with Bush. His vision of the world is of him sitting on a pile of cash for whatever jollies it gives him.

PNAC uses their "greater America" as nothing but a diversion.

9. Bush well on the way to turning US into 3rd world country
Why not? Nearly all third world countries have a very thin layer of uber rich elite. We all know how Bush's tax breaks have provided most of their benefits to the uber rich, and how the middle class is disappearing as the wealth gap grows. So when we are nothing but a land of outsourced jobs, and vast number of visa-ed foreigners who will work in the USA without unions and at a much lower salary rate, Bush & his super wealthy cohorts will be living in their gated communities, continuing to benefit.

10. You nailed it...
all of these gated communities going up around the country freak me out. I envision a world in the not too distant future where those that "have" live in gated and protected enclaves and the rest of us "have nots" live out a weird sort of "Lord of the Flies" scenario. Kind of the opposite of "Escape From New York".

not to mention the tens of thousands of GIs stuck in the hells of Iraq & Afghanistan. I think it is absolutely fitting and just that bloodthirsty, greedy warmonger can't spend Easter at home either.

Gay, lesbian parents to line up for Easter Egg Roll tickets

Thursday, April 13, 2006; Posted: 11:39 a.m. EDT (15:39 GMT)

The White House Easter Egg Roll has been a Washington tradition since the mid-19th century. (subheadline)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Hundreds of gay and lesbian parents hoping to take their families to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll plan to start lining up Friday evening to make sure they get tickets for the Monday event. Thousands of tickets -- an estimated 16,000 last year -- are given away on a first-come-first-come basis beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

First lady Laura Bush's office issued a statement saying all families are welcome to attend."I don't think this is a protest," said Jennifer Chrisler, executive director of the Family Pride coalition. "Showing up, participating fully in an American tradition, showing Americans that we do exist, that in our minds isn't a protest."

The gay and lesbian parents say they won't carry signs or chant slogans, but will wear rainbow-colored leis as a unifying symbol."The message is that gay and lesbian families are everywhere in this country," said Chrisler. "We care about the same things that all parents care about: providing our children with every opportunity and every experience possible."

The egg roll has been a Washington tradition since the mid-19th century. Children use spoons to push colored eggs through the grass in a race. Past events have included petting zoos and White House staff members in bunny costumes. The president sometimes makes a brief appearance, and the first lady often reads a story. The White House has not announced plans for this year.

14. Camp David isn't so isolated
It is in the middle of a national park, or state park (can't remember which). I went camping up in Thurmont when I was a kid in the girl scouts, and we went hiking around and ran across a big chain link fence with a lot of fancy looking equipment behind it. There were men with Guns on the other side of the fence, we had stumbled onto Camp David from the woods. I think it was about the time that Carter was there with Begin and Sadat but the president was definitely there.

While the men with the guns watched us, and we promptly left the area, no guns were raised, no words were spoken. If fact, I think they were rather amused at us. I wonder if we would have gotten the same reaction today?
