If you want to buy a gas-guzzling SUV, you should be allowed to do so, but you should be made to pay for the disproportionate amount of damage your vehicle does to the environment above all other vehicles. I say the best way to do that is to levy a tax on the type of car one purchases. If you want to buy an SUV and it's not for business or necessity but leisure, you should pay several thousand dollars worth of tax on that. If you want to purchase a fuel efficient vehicle like a Corolla or a Civic or any of the hybrids, you should receive a tax credit worth several thousand dollars.

than lower taxes. And more to the US and the needs of it's citizens than lower taxes. The stupid lower tax fucks shit when they hit a pothole with their "Beemer" but scream bloody murder if their taxes go up. You get what you pay for and you don't get what you DON'T pay for.
