Anybody watch Lou Dobbs?
He is hammering Rep. Jeff Flake.

Lou looked like he was going to bust a gut!

He was going after him for what Flake was saying about having to change the course of the party. It appears Flake was one of the names that we behind the deal to force Delay out.

"When we allow our own members to designate certain money's " ... he think earmarks are the problem not lobbyist.

Lou brought up fast track abdication, no oversight.

Flake said their agenda included limited government, economic freedom, individual responsibility,
and free trade. Said they needed to get to a position where they could pursue that agenda. Needed to make sure their own house was in order. If they could get ahold of earmarks, then they could pursue their agenda.

Lou said, if you could get ahold of earmarks is this going to fill the people back home with passion and their going to look down and see public education is a mess, going to see 29 years of trade deficits, federal budget deficits that are out of control ...

Flake - "No, no, that's not all. You gotta start somewhere. We need to continue on the path that we are on to make the tax cuts permanent, make sure the economy keeps growing, and to make sure that we have local control in public education. That's the ticket."

It was unbelievable!

It was on and Lou's raised voice caught my ear.

Here's his poll for tonight about Alito.

3. Yea, I'm watching! I think Flake got a lot more than he bargained for!
Lou really did call him on every talking point he had! I thought the next question from Lou was going to be, "Well for goodness sake, you Pubs have been in power for 10+ years! Why the heck didn't you do before NOW?" OI really think this question was coming, but they ran out of time in the segment.

6. Naw, DeLay is more experienced. He wouldn't have let it happen.
I don't know this Flake guy at all. In fact, when he first came on, I said "With a name like Flake, you want me to believe you???"

I suspect he doesn't have near the experience or arrogance that DeLay has. Bet he goes home tonight and has a couple of BIG tall ones!!!!

5. I watched Lou Dobbs and wrote him a "negative" letter
but not on this issue because what he did on the Harry Belafonte story was absolutely over the top ad hominum.

and anyway, the segement that you're writing about was simply a prop for the repukes to showcase their golden leaf turning moment for the next year.

in other words it was full on right wing agendized segment - which one expects from Dobbs. the Alito segment was a sham, and the rest of it was puke.

9. I didn't see it that way at all
Maybe it was, but from my point of view, he was giving him a tongue lashing.

10. Of course that segment was meant to prop the Pubs. But Lou didn't
let it happen! I think you're picking on Lou is unwarranted. He always appears to be a middle of the roader, and smacks both side when he get's pi**ed off.

That's what he did tonight to Flack!

We just disagree about Lou. I enjoy his show.

11. Not at all, Lou Dobbs audience is pretty liberal, socially.
Votes on neo-cons, lack of border control and the economy tend to be extremely lop-sided in favor of the People.

13. gotta give lou credit for this one.
i enjoyed every minute of it. i just wish he had called flake on the tax cut thing when flake said they were putting money back into middle class pockets. lou should have said something about $300/year not going very far. he DID say that earmarks were puny compared to other issues . . . like corporations writing their own legislation, the influence of lobbyists, the bankruptcy bill, public school decline . . . it was great. he made flake's talking points look just like . . . talking points.
