2. Yea, car sales are up because those who bought them
now have to sell them 'cause they can't afford to keep 'em! As for the retail sales being up....you need more info. What did they lump into retail sales? If it includes groceries, the higher cost of everything has a big impact! Did it include retail sales of gasoline? Hmmm, guess I don't have to say much more, huh?

9. March results
quote.......
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. retail sales bounced back in March from a February dip and consumer sentiment brightened early this month with help from a strong labor market, a series of reports on Thursday showed.

The Commerce Department said overall retail sales rose 0.6 percent last month after a revised 0.8 percent February fall that had been reported as a much steeper 1.4 percent drop.

New-car sales were up 1.6 percent last month, partly recovering from a 2.8 percent drop in February.

5. Because it's proof to the wingnutery the tax cuts of 2001 are.....
starting to kick in. Just like they told us they would. Reduce taxes for the rich and car sales will pick up for a month 5 years down the road. Works every time.
