Gas in East San Diego County. Yesterday $2.79. Today $2.85.
Next week at this time it will be $3.00+.
I was in Ocean Beach today and its $2.99 a gallon there. many "last chance", freeway ramp stations are also set at $2.99.

Thanks Georgie! You and your Big Oil cartel buddies are raking in the dough while Americans are having a hard time "putting food on their families".
I hope that you all have a great summer! :sarcasm:

3. We only have ourselves to blame
We wasted the 80's and 90's buying gas-guzzling piece of crap vehicles while actually dismantling the gains we made in the 70's towards energy independence.

We, the US consumers, are ultimately the ones to blame now that we've sucked up most of the easily available oil left on the planet.

4. You've got to factor corporate greed in there somewhere.
Big Oil is making record profits.

5. In Ocean Beach, there was the same exact price jump at the cheapest place.
It was $2.79 when I filled up at lunch, when I dorve home past the same stattion it was $2.85.

And that's at one of the cheapest places I know of.

6. Go back to the station and tell them you want yesterday's gas!
:sarcasm:

But really, I don't know how often gas stations fill their storage tanks, but you'd think they would charge the same price for the same gas. I know, I know, it all has to do with "supply and demand."

7. I was at a light by the station when they were changing numbers.
When I rolled down my window and jokingly told him to stop and put the old numbers up. He laughed.

9. It already is $3.09 / gal in the beach areas
I know because I was down in the Pacific Beach part and it was $3.10 at the highest, and it was $2.97 when I filled up in Solana Beach last week.
