Question about Generals Asking for Rumsfeld Resignation
I think this is a big deal.

I have been busy on union matters for three weeks, so I need some help catching up here.

I know at least four retired generals asked for Rumsfeld to step down.

The quote I think I heard from a TV in the background was something like this. "..the Iraq invasion was planned with the swagger reserved for only those who have never seen battle." Ret. Gen ?

Please give me the quote DUers.

2. Ret. General Newbold
The decision to invade Iraq, he wrote, "was done with a casualness and swagger that are the special province of those who have never had to execute these missions — or bury the results."

4. There seems to be some organization to it.
It is a ray of hope, but it is also a danger. Our military, with the obvious exception of the Civil War, has generally stayed out of the political fray. Bringing the military into the polical crisis over the Bush regime may not be all good. Consider the fact that the fascist theocrats have been busy turning the airforce into their own loyal faction of the military through their efforts at the academy. Are you sure you want the military to save us?

5. This also ties in with what Sy Hersh is saying
that he expects mass resignations.

7. IMCPO, this is just a warning to the psycho-in-chief.
They're telling him, by calling for Rummy's retirement, that if they don't straighten up and fly right....THEY will MAKE him do so. I feel a military movement coming to stop these warmongering rat bastards who have a choke hold on this country. I could be wrong, but that seems to be the only way to stop them now and I think that's what the Generals are thinking too. It's that or a revolution by the people who are too busy shopping to bother with saving their Democracy.
