November will be great!!
It is Karma - what goes around comes around - and it is surely comming around.

I can wait a few more months. We have to.

11. We are together in this -
God, I wish it was tomorrow.

But we can wait a little - as long as the prick can't get a war resolution thru the "make-believe" congress.

I don't think he can.

And we do win in November - and we will.

2. I'm agnostic

The electronic voting machines are a problem. I have a hunch the errors will give the Dems the victory so that they can insulate themselves from charges that the game really is rigged. If the Dems lost, too many people would start asking too many questions. If they win, then they would not have so much heat on them. The ones who count the vote hold the power.

3. Don't count your chickens....
We have to be vigilant and committed to doing the things necessary to pulling off wins...not just talking about how great it's gonna be. Not to mention the fact that there are several democratic incumbents like Kulongski, Cantwell, Blagojevich, Stabenow, Granholm, Menendez, and Baldacci. Just try to be judicious with your positivity.

5. I think I am just realistic.
You know, winning is more an attitude than anything else.

And by the way - Karma is Buhdist philosophy - And Buhdda would be the first to admit it is not a religion.

Believe you are gonna win and you just might win.

From my point of view, Bush would have do to something really right - he has not done that since he was elected. What are the odds he could do that in the next six months??

SO what goes around does come around - always my experience.

We look VERY good right here - and we earned it the hard way.

8. Diebold will be counting all the chickens
and we're not allowed to see how.

Right-wingers don't have master, top-down plans to lie, cheat, and steal their way to power. Each individual right-winger introduces as much corruption into the system as they can, kind of like individual terrorist cells. Each of the last two presidential elections, and probably the mid-term election in between, have been rife with Republican election felonies. Tens of thousands of votes here, tens of thousands there, and it all adds up. From street thugs in the Florida count, to Katherine Harris, to Antonin Scalia and O'Sandra day Connor, to Blackwell and Diebold and the Repub operative that was just outed as having blocked phone lines into the Democratic party election apparatus just before the last election, they each add as much democracy destruction into the equation as they can.

They aren't going to change, so I agree we shouldn't count on anything. I'm not sure they can't even turn a landslide against them into a corporate media-approved 'mandate' for themselves.

4. Not without verifiable voting systems.
If a fair election were held today, Democrats would sweep every seat.

6. SO if the situation were the same or better in November
wouldn't the result be the same??

I don't care about the voting systems now - I CARE that the result can be truly checked, and that is not going to happen with a "paper ballot" now - don't fool yourself.

The reason I have faith in November is because I don't think Jesus Christ could cheat successfully in 400 + elections simultaneously - and I KNOW we have the means to double check it.

I didn't say a thing about 2008, for a reason. But we have very good reasons to believe in 2006.

And it will be decided then,

Joe

10. Thats interesting.
No - I expect the house and the senate back in ought six - I EXPECT IT.

I remember the "contract for america" years - we have BETTER NUMBERS!!

We better win this one outright - I think we will.

And frankly - the likely screw-ups for ole W should push us WAY over the top.

Remember the default headline for these guys is IRAQ -

Pessimisim has its place - not here though, we already had that.

9. I'm feeling very optimistic about our chances in Nov
too. The candidates that I have heard speak here in Ohio have said that they see more and more people volunteering, attending events, becoming involved. I'm excited. Our local party is already organizing for the November election and this is earlier than the outreach that happened in '04!

I feel like Tom Hanks in a "League of their Own" when Geena Davis comes back for the championship game and he proclaims...

"We're gonna win"....

wait... that was a bad example -

but anyway - I feel change in the air!!!

16. That is a good example - you are modest.
I don't think too many of us really gave a shit about politics until Gore lost (so to speak)

You are American - you can feel the change in the air - I am so proud to be American right now. And it has been years since I felt that way.

I know our country, I know our history - we CAN be proud now. We have to be, we are winners.

Not so long ago, we saved the world. It is a fact that many of our parents paid a price for.

This guy is just an asshole, nothing more.

Joe

I know Ohio pretty well - Born near Pittsburg, brought up in Los Angeles.

I KNOW it is our country - Pacific to the Atlantic. I don't know any red states - they are all American states as I understand it. This idiot can't seperate our history from us - can't be done.

Lets prove it.

17. thanks so much for this post Joe!
you really did give me a boost! I get bummed when some threads all come down to - "we can't do anything b/c of the voting machines"

Hell Yes we can!!! volunteer, contribute, phone bank, canvass, register likely dems, talk to your neighbors, but get involved and don't use Diebold as your excuse not to!

We CAN win dammit - I know we can! And, I'm not giving up!

19. Thank you for your good words -
We are gonna win - It is kind of a back east mentality that gives some of us sanity out west, even if they don't admit it.

There is a right and a wrong in life - I sure didn't learn that in LA, but it was a fact where I grew up, near you I think.

But I did learn In California Karma is real, it exists - and it is the same thing I learned in CCD - What goes around comes around, What-so-ever-you-do to the least of my brothers -

Same thing, different labels.

God bless you Ohio - God bless all of of us.

Joe

13. Feel better about it
They can't do this one.

It is WAY too complex.

We will have time to fix it after - as long as we win.

23. It's the "as long as we win" stuff that has me concerned................
....because I just don't see why Diebold would allow these next two elections get by them when their buddies occupy the WH right now.

I hope your optimism pans out into a win for the left for the sake of entire country.

21. Wisconsin will do the right thing.
Good people do the right thing.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say - you act like a winner and that is how you will be taken. It is true in life not just politics.

The truth is I have an interest in the election (an E-5 out of FT Lewis) - so you could take that into consideration. But I do the right thing - as I understand it.
