1. The chairman of the joint cheif of staff
is up there defending Dumsfeld, saying that the generals were not being censored, that they had the freedom to speak their minds. BULLSHIT!!!

2. I heard one of the generals talking on NPR this afternoon.
He DID speak up. He was forced to retire, lost a Star, and lost part of his pension. There you go.

3. says he quit
in Nov. because everything was so screwed up. The civilians in DoD are not amenable to ANY advice from the brass. Asked for more troops. Didn't get them. Talks about Gen. Shinsecki (sp) Leher asks why he didn't speak out earlier. Says it's the culture, that's why he quit. Issues of accountability that need to be addressed. Has no problem with civilian leadership of military. "An honorable man would step down". Strategic underpinnings of this war can be traced back to the Sec. Says it's not an organized effort. While on active duty talked amoung themselves all the time. Disbanding the Iraqi military was a colossal mistake directly attributable to the Sec. We have got to complete the mission in Iraq. (yech) Need to mobilize the country. No sacrifice from Americans. All stuff he wrote in his recent article. He' going to keep speaking out. That it.
