ATF rids Univ. of ninja threat

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm agents, on campus Tuesday for Project Safe Neighborhoods training, detained a “suspicious individual” near the Georgia Center, University Police Chief Jimmy Williamson said.

Jeremiah Ransom, a sophomore from Macon, was leaving a Wesley Foundation pirate vs. ninja event when he was detained.

After being held in investigative detention, he was found to have violated no criminal laws and was not arrested.

“It was surreal,” Ransom said. “I was jogging from Wesley to Snelling when I heard someone yell ‘freeze.’”

Ransom said he thought a friend was playing a joke before he realized officers had guns drawn and pointed at him.

4. 'Suspicious individual'...
...seems to be shorthand for 'anyone who looks different from what my tiny mind finds acceptable.'

Things must have changed a lot on college campuses since my day if dressing like a loon is sufficient to be 'suspicious looking'.

And can someone please explain how "investigative detention" differs from "arrest." Sounds like another injection of DoubleThink into the language.

These ATF guys need to have unlawful arrest and assult charges filed against them. Or is kneeling on an innocent person's neck a new way of saying 'howdy?'

7.  "investigative detention"
That's a state of being harrassed, searched, checked for priors, grilled, questioned, and genarally fucked with by local law enforcement for merely being in the area.

I see a lot of it in our neighborhood. Usually, the local law enforcement's white; those in investigative detention, black. :puke:

I thought it must be something like that.

To my mind, if you can't walk away from a cop, he/she has arrested you, whether they call it so or not.

Presumably, 'ID" was invented as a way of shaking people down without having to advise them of their rights.

edit for light gibberish removal.

17. How dare you exploit the GSM's goals for your own statistics.
It is well known that his pasta-ness wants more pirates in the world. That is why he is sending us the plague of Global Warming. Until you take up the yoke of pirate-hood, we will never know the world as it was. Argghhh, matey. So it shall, be

15. Pirates vs. Ninjas
What is Pirates versus Ninjas?

It is the long-standing debate over who the victor would be in a fight between pirates and ninjas. For many it's a new concept, but in some circles the argument has been brewing for decades. The argument was kept cloistered amongst friends in the beginning, but with the invention of the internet the debate has been turned loose on an unsuspecting populace.

Secret PvN Fact: In 1969, the first message sent across the ARPANET was sent from a technician at UCLA to another technician at the University of Utah. That message was "Who would win in a fight between pirates and ninjas?"

12. But you must admit...
...he's not much of a ninja if a couple of fat pricks like the ones in the photo could take him down.

He's gonna get seriously teased by his ninja friends.
