the time has come to finally drop all pretense
shrub is not a great leader and a wonderful christian who is compassionate and conservative and doing a great job instilling christian values and only responding to an evil that is attacking our nation because he loves our country and is defending our freedoms.

we've known that here on du for quite some time, but more and more people have come to their senses. i think it's finally time for the media to just drop the pretense. it's looking more and more ridiculous by the day. witness his press secretary trying to explain how shrub had to lie about those "mobile wmd labs" because the fact that they were NOT hadn't been declassified yet!

give it up, guys!

shrub is a lying sack of shit. his only talent is being able to move unflinchingly from one lie to the next without the slightest trace of guilt or remorse. his incoherent stumbling through sentences is not some charming way of relating to the masses, it's a sign of a damaged brain and a severe handicap in a president. we no longer care whether his mental defects are due to senility, alzheimers, alcohol abuse past or present, cocaine abuse past or present, repeated beatings by karl or laura or barbara or himself, or snacking on lead chips. it doesn't matter why, it only matters that he's a stupid incoherently babbling shithead who wouldn't make a good leader of a cub scout troupe let alone the free world.

he does not display good christian values, unless robbing a 7-11 and using a getaway car with a "jesus loves me" bumper sticker is good christian values. if that's what it's all about, then i'm wrong on this one.

he spends like a drunken sailor and works hard to invade your privacy. this is not remotely conservative, so give it up, quit calling him conservative.

and bogging us down militarily in country after country because of a single crime back in 2001 is not brave leadership or defending our country. it's abusing an emotionally charged incident for partisan political advantage and to implement an imperial conquest plan for the benefit of domestic oil producers at the expense of just about everyone else on the planet.

GIVE IT UP!

3. finally, the pretense can be lifted!
Thank you for issuing this decree. We've all been holding back for years. The sunshine is so bright and beautiful, and we have you to thank for inspiring us to step into the light and speak our minds. You are like Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr all in one!

The time has finally come indeed.

5. Great post...
You've been reading my mind. It's really embarrassing, to realize that the so-called leader of our country is such a total failure. The rest of the world must think Americans are the most easily deceived people ever, especially after 2004. People should have realized by then what a disaster another Bush term would be. Life has become a nightmare for so many people in so many ways since the Supreme Court betrayed their oaths of office and stuck us with this dolt.

7. This is news?
Edited on Fri Apr-14-06 05:55 AM by Skeptor
Two years ago, the man who a month later became Australia's Opposition Leader named The Shrub IN PARLIAMENT as "the most incompetent president the United States has ever had". Some people criticised him at the time. They're still choking on their words.

8. the problem is......
charlatans have been a fixture in US politics since long ago; what makes bush different is the gopigs eagerness to exploit those 'structural flaws' in the system (the same 'flaws' as Peter Dale Scott mentioned which allowed the public murder of JFK and the fantasy blaming of a lone gunman etc, part of the system still insists on the silly oswald conspiracy theory even today) and use the profits of that exploitation to destroy the system, flaws and all! the busheviks are helped by the US habit of routine self delusion - for example, the mormon church (no one can deny that the mormon church was founded by a charlatan, which just makes more awful the fact most mormons are great people!) and the enforced fiction that newsmedia is 'objective'....the very reason for public broadcasting is to offset the bias inherent in corporate pigmedia (the system conveeeniently forgets this when talking about the antibusiness/police etc 'bias' which should be in a pbs)
somehow, the republicannots/gopigs/xians/neocons or whatever one calls them think that the future can be built upon falsehoods, and the trick is to get everyone who matters to go along with the falsehood, which can then be deleted from the history. It's win win, and what's wrong with that?

11. Not being (I think) any of the above,
I nevertheless accept "the meek shall inherit the earth" as a mission statement. The advance of humanitarian civilization can be measured by the extent to which psychopaths and charlatans are excluded from the power matrix, by the relentless insistance on the part of nice people on truth, integrity, and the triumph of the golden rule.

14. to be 'meek' is to be tougher, and qucker witted
then the arrogant thuggees who constantly threaten to take over; and somewhere in the formulae there must be someone willing to actually pay with hisher life or security to confront the bullyboys. This is when rightwing.xian type gentlemen always step aside and say it's 'womin and chillen first'!

12. Great post. You have said in a few paragraphs what many of
us have been ranting and raving about at great length for a long time. We can only hope that Bush's supporters and enablers are starting to see the same thing.

13. Don't forget that Pope John Paul II thought Bush was the Anti-Christ
For the Pope to make a comment like that seems pretty big to me. Yet most people don't seem to be aware of it, or are so complacent with their self-centered little lives that they somehow think it doesn't concern them.

15. He a con man--and a liar--and one of the most successful of all times.
The entire purpose of his administration has been to take money from the ordinary American taxpayer and transfer it to his already wealthy supporters.

What is amazing is that he has done this to the ringing applause of millions of citizens who are being taken to the cleaners by this gang of criminals.

18. Recommend!
The people of the U.S. have been gone crazy living with the insanity of this "leader" for so long. The reactions needed from the people have been going on so long that people are very depleted. If only this would be the one thing that would start the pendulum swinging in the other direction - toward life with sanity.

Thanks
