W. is "thinking" (circa 1967): "Oh wow. This is the part where I run out and catch the ball as it's sailing high into the stands and the guy who hit the ball it says it's not fair cause I'm only a cheerleader, but everybody else allows it because it is SO grand and they loved the way I landed just like Superman and they can't stop crying and applauding and stuff. . . . Wow. It could happen any moment."
