The phones on WJ are rigged! |
|
After four or five busy signals, I actually got a ring at Washington Journal, on the DEM line, of course. But no one ever picked up, until I finally got the phone co message that says roughly, "Hey dumbass! obviously no one is there, why don't you try again later?"

1. Neocon Brian is the host today, right? |
|
It seems to happen with increased frequency when he's the host.

2. from what I understand, |
|
That's the way it is supposed to work. This way, you don't incur long-distance charges while you are waiting.

3. Who pays long distance charges anymore? |
|
And who decides whether or not I want to pay them? I think my point is worth a few of my brazillion airtime minutes.

6. I wound up getting a ringing line FIVE TIMES |
|
and NOT ONCE did they ever pick up. I even timed 'em so that as a democratic caller hung up, I was there. So there should have been a free line, right? BUT NO ONE EVER PICKED UP.
Fuck that. It was my first attempt at calling in, and I was going to ask that Sparschott guy about this supposed 4.7% unemployment rate the Bushbots kept crowing about, as their pass for Bush for fucking up the war. The REAL stats point to about a 12% unemployment rate, and I wanted those damned Bushbots to hear it. I had all the facts and figures at the ready on my browser, with sources and links and the whole nine yard.
But I guess that kind of stuff isn't what they want to hear. They managed do give three minutes to Hemp-Dude though, a complete waste of time as he rambled on about the long list of products he buys made from hemp, then asked why people can't buy products made from hemp. AARGGH! That served the right's purpose much better than my call would have, I suppose. It kept the us in the realm of the looney-left who only cares about dope and government handouts.

7. Maybe caller ID showed you weren't calling from Karl Rove's Call Center |
|
Most of the calls I hear on C-SPAN sound like astroturf to me, or the ravings on the deranged. Or maybe a mixture of both.

I was on a few weeks ago. I redialed maybe 25 times and they answered. The girl who answered asked me if I was ever on the show before, then she instructed me to lower the volume of my TV. I made my comments on the air 5 minutes after that.
