OMG! Kate O'Beirne on Softball!
Edited on Mon Jan-09-06 07:58 PM by Patsy Stone
Norah (the shill) just said this was going to be a "fun" segment. It's all about Kato's feminist hating book!

:puke:

Review from Amazon:

"Book Description
A top conservative writer explores the feminist assault on our families, schools, workplaces, and military

As a woman, Kate O’Beirne can say things a male commentator could never get away with. In her long-awaited first book, she takes on America’s leading feminists—including Hillary Clinton, Gloria Steinem, Eleanor Smeal, Maureen Dowd, Kate Michelman, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and even Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw. She confronts them with hard evidence of how women like them have done more harm than good over the last four decades.
O’Beirne is all for women’s equality and celebrates the unprecedented opportunities they enjoy today. But she faults those feminists who believe that a hostile patriarchy reigns and that women remain its helpless victims. Their agenda is not profemale; it’s merely antimale.

Women Who Make the World Worse shows how their destructive handiwork can be felt in every corner of American life, including:
• fractured families and dispensable dads
• offices and schools that have become battlegrounds in the gender wars
• military units that put lives at risk to promote social engineering

This book takes on some very powerful women and challenges beliefs that have become feminist orthodoxy, starting with the myth that men are the enemy of women’s progress. O’Beirne marshals her allies, prepares for a good fight, and never loses her sense of humor. This is a provocative book that will appeal to anyone, male or female, who wants some old-fashioned common sense about relations between the sexes.

From the Back Cover
"We depend on manly characteristics to keep us safe. Every single one of the dead firemen heroes on 9/11 were men. This was one group where liberals didn’t ask why there wasn’t a more pleasing gender balance, because the Upper West Side is not fireproof. What happens in combat in some distant field is abstract to liberals, but they can understand the need to have strong, brave men in their fire department." —Kate O’Beirne"

for low wages at Walmart! I don't want her to get equal pay as the same man next to her either. Nope, I want her to struggle making less. She'll get by. Don't worry about her. She can get a second job ...

12. There was a woman on the Today Show today
that thought the way O'berne thinks. She expounded on the value of staying home and was married for 40 years when her husband dumped her. She is now sorry that she didn't work after her kids went to school or at least take courses and further her education. O'berne is an ass. Should be locked up. Very republican and lies like one. Just lies very day and all the time.

18. She should be reminded of that
Instead of sitting on her ass and writing a book she would've been caring for her kids and cleaning the house and making the meals. So why did she write a book and is now promoting it?

11. What a nut. I you build it they will come. Men have had to change if
they wanted to be married (which many do). They have to do their part. Fair is fair.

Part of Carrie Bradshaw's issue was that she went from being a victim to in control of her life. The change was good. Carrie & her pals didn't start out as perfect. They didn't end as perfect. But they were more grown up and clearer.

Shame on them.

All four of them worked on their shit and ended up with the lives they had dreamed of. A Hollywood ending with some truths in there.

I doubt she watch the show. The whole point was that they didn't have their shit together. It happens.

14. Typical. Asserts that despite all evidence to the contrary,
certain women are evil who hate America and family, are doubly evil by acting normal and refusing to admit they hate America and family, and they dupe all Americans who believe their own eyes rather than her.

Completely irrefutable since it's premise is that people who merely act and talk and walk like reasonable moderates truly believe in the destruction of life on planet Earth. It's an article of hate.

24. global female labor market
Convincing women overseas that socialist programs like child care, health care, housing, will harm their economic opportunities. Every third world economic program that I know of has its basis with women, buying them sewing machines and stuff like that. They want to kill feminism because it in turn kills the kinds of programs that support women. Not much good in creating a cheap labor plantation society if feminists are going to muck it all up with labor rights and such.

with no child-care housing or health care? That seems back ward. All it does is force a woman to stay home, where there is no outside expenses.

Unmarried and young women without children. That's why there's forced abortions. Or grandmothers care for the children if mothers continue to work. Labor exploitation is ages old.

US Forestry Department Ranger and she was a woman. Every year she fought forest fires during fire season around the west alongside the firefighters and other rangers. The best cop I knew was a deputy sheriff who was a woman. I knew I was safe in her company because she would take a bullet for you.

Sorry Kate. I think you should get out into the real world and meet these women before you put them down.

21. This is just silly.
Books like this are really nothing more than vanity books. Someone, somewhere decided it was time to let her "write" a book out and make some money. There is a form of cronysim within the publishing world just like in other places. This is just rehashed bull from the 70's when Phyllis Shafly was convincing people that everyone would have to pee in the same bathroom and women would be sent into battle.

I guess these dead women who died on that day don't count.

Port Authority Capt. Kathy Mazza, police officer Moira Smith and paramedic Yamel Merino.

No they don't appear to be "firemen" but women who were public safety officers never-less.

That author of a book for "money" just pissed on these women and she disgust me.

who argues against his or her own self-interests.

She is a career woman who has benefitted immeasurably from the feminist movement. Why would she be against equal pay and more freedoms for women unless she was on the take? She is saying these things purely for her own personal profit, no other reason.
