4. Hummers have to be the most ridiculous vehicles ever made
They are ugly. The paint on them is of poor quality, as is the body work. The interior panels look cheap, the pattern on the instrument panel inserts looks like something from a 1950's Kaiser. They are difficult to drive, and uncomfortable to ride in. They are road hogs. Staying in one lane is sometimes impossible in a Hummer.

Buying one says so much about the person behind the wheel. And that's not a compliment.

6. ROTFLMAO! I found this little gem on the internet.
Edited on Fri Apr-14-06 03:20 PM by BrklynLiberal

Haiku by Tim
Hulking black Hummer
Purchased in rank atonement
small peckered driver

I made lots of copies and carry them around with me.
When I see a parked Hummvee, I stick a copy under the windshield wiper.

7. How many SUVs go off-road?
Very few. Less than 1% ever go over anything bumpier than a curb.

If people actually used them off-road, there would be a gigantic rugged wrecker industry.

They're station wagons, at best.

14. Hummer story:
In 1983, we had a blizzad where I live and one road near my house has a steep upgrade (45 degrees);
I was walking down the hill to go to the store
and watched as a Hummer tried to go up the hill. It couldn't do it.It had to turn around.
Immediately afterward, I watched an old Ford F-150 longbed (about a 70's model) climb up the
hill like it was on dry pavement.
Wish I had a video of that incident.

17. Apparently they were available for civilian use in 1991
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hummer>
The military was still using Jeeps back in 1983:shrug:

19. LOL, I understand
But hey, there were plenty of military vehicles in the civilian market in '83 too. Witness the 1952 Dodge Power Wagon

Difference between that and a Hummer is that the Power Wagon was actually useful. It had a PTO unit to which you could hook up tools for drilling oil, running a small sawmill, etc.

20. A brainless Humemr driver nearly hit me in a large parking lot, and
my vehicle isn't small. He was just rude and driving about 40mph in a parking lot and cut in front of me. I threw him a "vafanculo" and an arm pump (a finger wouldn't cut it).

A Republican friend of mine even thinks they are stupid; wonders how they can afford to drive them.
