1. "license to murder"???
Edited on Fri Apr-14-06 05:33 PM by Iblis
"Maniac"?

Isn't this the same alarmist tone that we often complain about when our opponents use it?

At the risk of sounding lazy, it sure would help if there was text or even a link to this proposed law. Do I just google "Right to Murder"??

signed,

Curious

2. "same alarmist tone"...Wow! New here are'ya?
Well, welcome to DU.

Yes, we often use the exact same alarmist tone as "the other side". Thanks for noticing. We thought no one cared.

If you came here hoping for a calm and reasoned debate, well, we've got warts...lots of them. And wrinkles and cranky, stubborn attitudes.

But occasionally you'll find that we can respond in a measured fashion. But most likely with a little more spice than the debate team would approve of.

Welcome to the wonderfully human and totally flawed DU. Enjoy your stay.

3. Eh. Ever heard of using honey instead of vinegar? :-)
I understand flawed. I've been on here for a little bit.

It's just the gun-grabbing tone of this post really got my defenses up. Especially since the actually verbiage of the bill is not available to see.

Sorry if I overreacted to the original posters overreaction.

4. You didn't offend me in the least. I just found it charming....
that you would expect partisan politics to be polite in this day and age. My tongue was firmly planted in my cheek.

I agree, however, that the bill(s) ought to be offered to us so that we might make an informed decision. I had trouble locating info too.

6. And What About Us Democrats Who Like This Law?
Those of us who happen to think that its not a bad law at all, are we less the Democrats for it?

7. Fear mongering at it's finest.
The same bug-eyed lunacy and hand wringing when they said "blood will flow in the streets" and "Dodge City style shoot-outs" would result from relaxed or enacted CCW legislation.

'License to Murder'... :eyes:
