Just to keep the newsday real: Daily Look at U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq
As of Friday, April 13, 2006, at least 2,371 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At least 1,861 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.

-- Two Marines were killed Thursday in Anbar province.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

- Army Spc. Scott M. Bandhold, 37, North Merrick, N.Y., and Army Pfc. Roland E. Calderonascenio, 21, Miami; killed Wednesday when an explosive detonated near their vehicle south of Baghdad; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

- Marine Lance Cpl. Marcus S. Glimpse, 22, Huntington Beach, Calif.; killed Wednesday by an explosive in Anbar province; assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

- Marine Lance Cpl. Philip J. Martini, 24, Lansing, Ill.; died Saturday of a gunshot wound in Anbar province; assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
