The "Bush Crimes" are so ENORMOUS...it just Dwarfs our ability to DEAL?
Edited on Fri Apr-14-06 08:39 PM by KoKo01
It's a "scandal a week." Sometimes it's two or three scandals...but still it all goes down that "vast memory hole" of the Mainstream Media where it's spun and spun until nothing is left that one can get a "hook onto" to deal and keep it out there like the "Whitewater Scandal" and "Clinton Years" where there was a "vast Megaphone of the Right Wing Think Tanks and the Corporatists...hiring MEGAPHONES EVERYWHERE to send Clinton to Impeachment.

Forgetting Clinton and that he was COMPLICIT in WHAT HE DID...what BUSH has DONE...has put our DEMOCRACY IN PERIL...has TOSSED OUR CONSTITUTION..has made LAUGHING STOCK of AMERICA...the WORLD OVER!~

MY AMERICA now Participates in TORTURE OF INNOCENTS...in the most SADISTIC/SEXUAL WAYS that would have been unimaginable in past Administrations. MY AMERICA now values STRIKING SOVEREIGN COUNTRIES so that we can IMPOSE OUR WILL on THEM as to WHAT THEY MIGHT OR MIGHT "NOT" CHOOSE!

MY AMERICA..LIES TO IT's OWN PEOPLE and the supposed "PEOPLES REPRESENTATIVES" Accept THIS! They believe in the THINK TANKS because the REST OF US ...have no voice or representation being so "ill-inormed educationally" or so "stupid" perhaps...in "their minds" that we offer no rational voice anymore in how our own country is governed? :eyes:

I could go on...but no one will read further. Still? Shouldn't WE THE PEOPLE be OUTRAGED?

 It isn't just gays, God and Immmigration....That's what THEY WANT US TO FOCUS ON! IT's what they DON'T speak about...

1. Corpomedia has nothing to tell us.
You must write them off. You must encourage others to write them off. Pick apart a story or two for a skeptical friend. When watching one of the typical pieces, note for them the absence of the critical "who, what, when, where or why"... and there WILL be a critical fact missing from the story, (there always is).

Tell them that you wonder "who, what when where or why".. pop on over to your computer and voila!
It's easy to SHOW someone that the "news" has gone missing.... and where it went.

Repeat the above a few times, and you might end up with a curious friend.... who might start looking for themselves...

12. and it's debilitating...
i know that part of the republican/neocon idea is to make outrage so incessant that it weakens those affected by it, and this knowledge should be an antidote to the repuke scheme, but it's so dreary always looking for and hoping them spineless bastards in congress and the newsmedia at least think of their own kids' futures, and do something when they never do.....they must think that they look to gain from the chaos bush is causing - or use that fiction to excuse their cowardice and stupidity when faced with it.....

5. Outraged but needing some air...
Needing air for the sense that we've had our breath knocked out; but there is no air. The repubs have sucked it all up for themselves. We endure but the distress is great.

6. So happy to have been reminded of my password
after a major computer crash to recommend this to the greatest page. That's precisely the issue. Their crimes and malfaesance are so vast it's enough to make anyone's mind boggle. They can't get away with it much longer though. I've no rational reason for saying this. It's just a feeling.

A feeling based on historical fact: that hubris invariably has resulted in the fall of every imperial power throughout recorded history.

Pass the popcorn please.

Have a nice day or evening.

7. I think people are becoming numb or deaf
My town is a little Rethug bastion in a Rethug county (one of a very few in my very Blue state) where I go in the morning for a bagel and coffee, I've seen people on the way out turn over the newspapers to hide headlines (two stacks in racks by door) and when I've called them on it, they run away or refuse to answer. Around these parts, they get on the phone and claim they are being threatened.

I talk to casual friends who just shake their heads and refuse to talk politics. They know what's happening, but most of us are soon to retire Boomer's, and the youth haven't the passion we had in the Nixon days. I think the bastards in Washington are hoping that they can fool the public one more time with another straw-man they create until 2008 and take their chances against Hillary. I wake up in the mornings and put cartoons on to soften the blow of the next wave of chaos they cast on us and wish for sunny days one at a time now.

Bush and his minions from hell have only one god, one goal, money. The rest of us can go to hell.

9. I was in a bookstore at the mall last night and turned the copies
of Pickles' new book around so that people wouldn't see the cover. Your "headlines" comment made me think of that.

8. Republicans control everything, from school boards, to local govts., to
Congress, to the White House, to K Street, to everything. We let it happen. That's why this criminal is getting away with everything. What are we going to do to make sure this never happens again?

14. I disagree that we let it happen...much of the control has been stolen
from local governorships to the presidency. As for what we are going to do about it, nobody has come up with a solution yet. We are at their mercy.

15. It was stolen while we left the door wide open
We even sabotaged ourselves by bickering, as for example, when Nader and the Greenies and all who voted for him, wanted to teach the Democrats a lesson by letting our country experience Neo-Con rule. Are we going to do this bs again?

20. Disagree. Even Nader, who is always a element in elections, was not
the cause. The simple truth is, the thievery is being done by those in control of voting machines which are being tampered with and we can't do anything about it. Look at the countless people who have tried to do something. Look at what they are now trying to do to one who has stood up--Conyers.

25. As was 1933-45 Nazi Germany...

http://www.crisispapers.org/Editorials/germany-1933.htm

<snip>

The veneer of civilization is thin. We know this from our own observations, and various writers -- from Shakespeare to Sinclair Lewis ("It Can't Happen Here") -- have shown us how easily populations can be manipulated by leaders skillfully playing on patriotic emotion or racial or nationalist feelings.

Whole peoples, like individuals, can become irrational on occasion -- sometimes for a brief moment, sometimes for years, sometimes for decades. Ambition, hatred, fear can get the better of them, and gross lies told by their leaders can deceive their otherwise rational minds. It has happened, it happens, it will continue to happen.

One of the most outrageous and horrific examples of an entire country falling into national madness probably was Hitler's Germany from 1933-45. The resulting world war was disastrous, leading to more than 40,000,000 deaths.

17. That's a good point....it all goes down a memory hole
seldom to be heard again.
I guess it's the theory that the best defense is a good offense.

Every time a big scandal breaks, the kind that would have brought down any other admin, they spin it to a manageable detail then whip out a more outrageous one. The previous crisis soon becomes "old and settled news".

Hopefully it's like shedding layers of an onion and eventually their naked core will lay exposed and vulnerable.

21. People are so wrapped in surviving, they take the attitude 'you do it'
Somebody else will save the nation.
I'm too busy with my kids.
I'm too busy with my job.
I'm too busy with school.
I'm just to busy having fun...
the list goes on.

We act like the government we once trusted
is self-perpetuating. It needs no attention
or input from us. Just put it on auto-drive
and let it drive itself.

And while everybody is consumed only by their individual lives
the all powerful rich fat cats get us all lubed up
for one grand fuck after another. Amd tell us they
are doing it for our own good.

22. Just minutes ago
I was clicking on the usual stuff, and thought, "I am just utterly exhausted". I am exhausted by the lies and cheating and smearing and conniving. I will 'buck up' again tomorrow, but it wears on one to have to deal with this shit. The never-ending crap is just something I never thought would happen in our government and it is all so devastatingly filthy and revolting and disgusting and frightening that it takes it out of me now & then. It is demoralizing to see what is happening, it is so despicable. I must re-energize and carry on.
