2. Surprised it took as long as it did.
I don't know an awful lot about military procedure, but aren't even retired officers still members of the Reserves? If so, could they potentially be courtmarshalled for their statements? I wouldn't put it past BushCo to try to fry 'em.

9. Nope. I do believe these generals have fulfilled their commitment
of 8 years and are no longer in the reserves.

Even if they were, it would be very funny to see the former commander of the 82nd Airborne court-martialed for disloyalty to the corporate cabal.

That would be something to see.

A disloyal corporate cabal punishing a career soldier and general officer.

That would cause immediate impeachment.

22. All military retirees are in inactive reserve status.
However, charges under the UCMJ apply only to those on active duty. So, even if Bush et al were stupid enough to order those generals back to AD, they couldn't be charged with any 'offense' that took place before their reactivation.

3. You know what pisses me off???
Those stupid *questions* they put up, like "Hurting troop morale?" No one in their right mind would probably even think to question whether this was an issue. But no, these media idiots have to force feed brain food to the brain dead to make them think there's a problem when most likely there isn't. The answer to stupid questions like this in most cases is a resounding "NO!!!" :grr:

Whew. I feel better. Thanks.

It really burns me up how they (Bush, F*x News, etc.) hide behind
the troops when they sling their mud. Yet Bush doesn't walk the walk by providing them necessary, life-saving equipment, not to mention the cuts he's made to veterans' benefits & services.

4. mouthpiece (loud)
Did Limbaugh do any swift boating today? He seems to be Rove/Cheney's spokesman on the dark side.

My best hope is that "swift boating" is so predictable that it will lose strength.

5. Competent leadership doesn't hurt troop morale.
You stupid fucks. Leading them off a cliff and refusing to change course, like BushCo has done, DOES hurt troop morale.

Holding those accountable is hurting morale.

As a vet, I am laughing my ass off at anyone who believes this crap.

Between that and the "fake news" screenshot and I swear we're just following the lead of the right. I'm not here to learn their techniques - we already know them all too well...

13. If the Bushies attack -
these Generals they will shoot themselves in the foot.

Speaking out will lift the morale of the troops.

I heard a call on CSpan from a person who has been to Iraq and has first hand knowledge. He said the troops are demoralized by the mismanagement by KBR in Iraq. It goes all the way down to the small stuff. He said KBR hires their workers from Africa at low pay. He said they are cooking the food in the mess halls. He said that they do not know how to cook the food when the guys go in and order eggs over easy or SOS. These workers have no idea of what Americans like to eat. I could go on and on but most of the mismanagement has been reported like giving the troops contaminated water for drinking and washing.

These troops want to come home to their families and get on with their lives. Bless them all during another homesick for home holiday.

14. Hurting troop morale? No!!!!!
Here's what actually hurts troop morale: Distorting or concocting intelligence to justify going to war. Reinventing your mission every few months as the previous mission's premise is discredited. Stop-lossing tours of duty beyond enlistment expirations. Extending Iraq tours of duty beyond a year's time because of declining enlistments. Systematically cutting back veteran's benefits to help justify permanent tax breaks for the ultra-rich. Not providing adequate body armor or vehicle armor in combat zones. Chickenhawk control of all branches of gov't, plus the DOD. Having a "Commander in Chief" who's never bothered to attend a funeral of a fallen Iraqi serviceman, or be present when their bodies are flown in to the Dover AFB. To name but a few.

20. Are you basing that only on the photo or did you check out the links?
One of them leads to this blog:

http://biglizards.net/blog/archives/2006/04/grumbles_from_t.html

RW talking points are the generals are clintonistas, don't know how to run 'this war' and are no different than General Motors' vice-presidents who are pissed.

This entire entry is so out of touch, imbecile and vitriolic towards men who devoted their entire lives to the military, 20+ years.

From what I'm getting out of these blogs, there will be a concerted effort to discredit these men.

start crying for their mommies and daddies if anyone says a bad word about Rumsferatu. They must think the troops are crybabies or something.

18. ROFL!!! Generals "hurting troop morale"!!!
ROFLMAO!!!!

Do they even stop to think BRIEFLY about what they're saying?

I know their job is to make shit up, but it usually has some tenuous relationship with reality. This is just shy of oxymoronic.

I mean I like being told that if someone criticizes stupid shit my parents may have done my personal morale is going to suffer. Turning our troops into children isn't respecting or supporting our troops...
