1. I just saw a beautiful bald eagle today while driving.. |
|
I see them every so often on one stretch of highway, and in my yard. Today, the eagle was flying low across the highway.. low enough to see his face and feet. So huge and beautiful! I'm in awe whenever I see them. I'd definitely check out the nesting cam! Cool!!!

4. Things that make you go ........ |
|
hmmmm. I noticed there was a commercial for infotec at the beginning.
I'll check in on this at a later time to see if the eagle has moved around. Or if it ever gets dark.

They are from his little medical exams when he was a baby!
The first and only time I was a live Panda was at the Atlanta Zoo and I literally cried. I can't explain how I felt but I love these little guys.

8. Having lived in Alaska for years one of the most amazing things |
|
I saw was in the aleutian Islands.
A Seagull was hassling a Bald Eagle for some reason, and the bald eagle kept cruising, trying to ignore it, but the sea gull would not stop, flitting all around the eagle, dive bombing it.
So the Bald Eagle calmly snatched the seagull with it's talons, ripped it in half and dropped the two pieces which tumbled into the sea, all without missing a wing beat..
These are animals you DO NOT want to mess with. They are the size of a toddler and will swoop out of the sky and GRAB a toddler to feed to their babies, small dogs, etc. if you are not paying attention.
Majestic for sure, dangerous, absolutely.

When I lived in a different part of northern MI. there was an eagle's next up the road from me. It was huge!! Looked like an upside down Volkswagon.
A few years ago, while at our cottage, everyone was in the lake playing water-basketball and an eagle swooped down not 20 feet from them, nabbed a fish and took off. We couldn't believe how close we were to such a sight!
These are such amazing creatures. Truly majestic. Thanks for posting this great find.

26. Some eagles were nesting right in the middle of my city last year |
|
I don't know if they're back this year or not. They are the most awsome sight in America! Especially when you can get right up close. They were located in a park along the Fox River, right above all the paper mills! Here's someone's site of the eagles: http://www.jeffraflik.com/appleton.eagles.2005.htm(dial-up warning)
