The only ethnic music you can find on the shelves here is hispanic. Hispanic is fine, just not if its the only choice.

And worked at a company (meat processing) with 1600 employees of whom 1100 were mexican. When I was in high school we would go to the dominantly mexican neighborhoods to their bars and package stores to buy beer while we were under aged.

4. Apparently she has Rockwell Syndrome |

Where in the a-morphous midwest, the world is a white world of Cleavers and Ozzie and Harriets who all go down each week to Floyd's for a haircut and women wear 30 pounds of underwear. Having come from the midwest, Southwest Missouri specifically, there has been such an influx of hispanic poulation since the mid 1990's that a small town to the south of SPringfield actually has a spanish language radio station. There is at least one spanish language station in the Bentonville-Springdalee-Fayetteville-Rogers Arkansas RW metroplex too. THere are brown people all over, lady.

5. she'd better not come here, then. |

At least not Southern Wisconsin. Maybe the Northwoods would be "safe", but she'd think it was a bit cold!

The Hispanics I work with, and those that live in my neighborhood, throw the best parties, have the best food and have the most open generous family life. I can't imagine how different my life and those of my kids would have been without having this enrichment.
I love the multi-cultural aspect where I'm at....
...western suburbs, Chicago.
She's gonna have to search all over to find a lily-white neighborhood anywhere anymore. I find that a most excellent thought....

9. Ha. Don't come to NC, either |
|
we've have a 500% increase in the Spanish-speaking population since the early 90s. There are now around five to six hundred thousand in NC. We have a Spanish language radio station for here through Fayetteville. It was discoved that it was sorely needed during the big ice storm of 2002. Public officials didn't have a way to communicate with Spanish speakers about what to do for heat and shelter, when power crews would be able to clear debris and restore power in communities. It was awful.
Frankly I enjoy it. It's nice to get some new blood in here. And the new music and food is ALL GRAVY! :D :7
