The movie American Dreamz out next week
The movie American Dreamz comes out next Friday April 21st.

The basic premise is that the US President, obviously a spoof of Bush, is bottoming out in the polling and finally starts reading newspapers. When he discovers that things aren't really like the thought they were he becomes obsessed with reading and won't come out of the residence while he's catching up. His Chief of Staff decides to get him back out in public by having him judge the "American Dreamz" competition (American Idol) on live TV. Meanwhile, a reluctant Pakistani contestant is pressured by terrorists into making the final round so that he can carry explosives when he meets the President.

This is a comedy directed by Paul Weitz (American Pie).

"We're the only superpower," Weitz states. "I found myself asking, 'Is achieving a dominant status in the world the final step before moral and political decline for a society?' And, of course, the next thing that leaps to my mind is comedy..."
