Must hear interview from 1985 with Rev. William Sloane Coffin!
This might come as a suprise to the Vietnam era activists here but, I really didn't know who he was until I heard this interview. This guy really was great, and should be remebered.
He will be missed.:hippie:

This interview is from 1985. For any of the "Fresh Air" Terry Gross fans, yes, she does sound very young.

The Words of Rev. William Sloane Coffin

Listen to this story...(audio at link)

Fresh Air from WHYY, April 14, 2006 · Rev. William Sloane Coffin,
who died Wednesday at the age of 81 of congestive heart failure,
was known as a civil rights activist and outspoken critic of the Vietnam War.

As the chaplain of Yale University during the 1960s, Coffin became
an active voice for civil rights. In the 1970s, he was the head of
the Riverside Church in Manhattan, which was long known for its social agenda.

Hear an interview with Rev. Coffin originally broadcast in October, 1985.

2. It's really kind of amazing how similar the issues were in 1985 as...
...they are today.

He talks about how the Fundies are wrong to blame God for the deaths of their Sons in the 1983 Lebanon bombing, how they think the Bible bans Gay Marrage...

What else? I need to get my Coffee going. :hangover:

4. He was an incredible human being
I was able to listen to this interview Friday afternoon. If there is a God, this man was a man of God.
