Islamic Jihad promises aid to Iran if it is attacked

TEHERAN - Islamic Jihad chief Abdullah Ramadan Shala vowed in Teheran on Saturday that his Palestinian militant group would stand by Iran in the event of any United States or Israeli military action.

“Any threat to the Islamic republic is a threat to the Palestinians, and Iran will not be alone in facing these threats. And any aggression against Iran is an aggression against the Palestinians,” he told state television.

The radical Islamic Palestinian group Hamas, which now heads the Palestinian Authority, as well as firebrand Iraqi Shiite cleric Moqtada Sadr have made similar pledges of support.

Shala’s comments were made on the second day of pro-Palestinian conference in Teheran, which Iran’s hardline leaders have used to fire off a barrage of vitriolic attacks against the United States and Israel.

3. I see Iraqi Shiite cleric Moqtada Sadr is being called a firebrand again
For a while there I thought he was going to be dropped
from The Two Minutes Hate.
We still got 911, TERROR, al Qaida, Democrats, Zarqawi, sometimes Bin Laden, and firebrand al Sadr - just enough for Bush's
Two Minutes Hate.

4. "Any threat to the Islamic republic is a threat to the Palestinians"

Is any threat to Iran also a threat to people of the Baha'i faith?

Is the Baha'i faith the religion of any Palestinian person?

5. But ... but ... but I was just reading in another DU
thread that Shi'ites and Sunnis simply can't ever--under any circumstance, ever--work together for a common goal. :sarcasm:

Just another bit of evidence that that assertion is simply that, with little behind it. All they need is a sufficient goal, and the right set of Sunnis and Shi'ites.
