WAR ON TERROR = DEAD FOR OIL admits bush pal Hall (R)
Edited on Mon Jan-09-06 11:43 PM by LynnTheDem
Hall: Bush has planned exit strategy

The senior member of the U.S. House of Representatives says President George W. Bush has an exit strategy for Iraq, regardless of some charges to the contrary.

“Once we set up a friend as the head of Iraq, the new Iraqi president is going to ask the American military to withdraw,” U.S. Rep. Ralph Hall, R-Rockwall, said Friday in a telephone interview from his home.

While Bush insists the War in Iraq is a part of the War on Terror as well as a war to establish Iraqi freedom, Hall terms it “a war for energy,” a strategy Bush downplays.

“The War on Terror involves keeping the bad guy from having his foot on half the oil reserves in that most populated area,” Hall said. “For that reason I think you could glean that this is a war for energy.”

“He (bush) sees energy as a secondary purpose,” Hall (a close personal friend of bush) continued. “It is clearly a strong secondary purpose, and in my belief the real reason for going over there.”

1. Wow. Just like that. Sort of like saying, "Nice day, isn't it?"
The numbing of America begins again.

3. We said 3 yrs ago that sooner or later they'd float the oil justification
They did the wmd...the 911...the alQaeda...the "domino theory...the "liberation"...

All total bullshit.

We said sooner or later they'd drop the REAL justification into the mix...OIL. They cioldn't do it 3 yrs ago coz the entire nation would have screamed bloody murder & dragged bush & Cartel from the White House. And now just as if it were absolutely the most natural thing in the world BAM...

"Sir, ma'am, your child died in honor serving this country's oil needs. Every time you drive your vehicle, the blood of your child will be running through the engine. We're sure you'll take great comfort in this."

5. Not just driving a vehicle.
Fertilizer. Plastics. The list goes on and on. But most of all ..... POWER.

Sickening. We've all been dragged into it, before most of us even realized what was happening. Now that those of us who care are trying to get it to stop, it just gets uglier and bigger every day.

I miss Jimmy Carter and his foresight.

2. This is PNAC doctrine if I'm not mistaken?
Or maybe it is the Baker Institute at Rice University that wrote about military intervention to protect energy interests.

4. You know that is what bothers me the most Lynn
Why can't they just be straight with us? Be up front. Tell the American people the real reason is oil. Might not make any difference as I think most people realize it already. But some honesty would go along way with me. Wouldn't change my view on the war but I would at least respect their honesty.

6. Always knew it was the oil, but even so, I feel sick to my stomach
hearing this asshole so casually talk about "war for energy". So many tens of thousands of men, women, babies...our troops, so many were 18, 19, 20 years old, fucking DEAD for oil.

They're DEAD.

And this is fine, no problem. "Moral"..."just"...

You KNOW the rightwingnuts will soon be chanting what a GOOD THING it is that so many people are fucking DEAD FOR OIL.

So what Saddam did to Kuwait had more moral authority (on an immoral scale) than what America did & is doing to Iraq; at least Hussein was trying to protect his own country's oil, not stealing someone else's.

We're fucking WORSE.

How the fuck do parents with their kids lying in graves, parents with their kids missing brains or legs or arms or eyes, how the fuck do they feel now...

STILL support bush, fucking assholes?

THANK YOU God, for giving me true compassion & morality to NOT be a warmongering-for-oil rightwingnut.

8. Remember how the wingnut commentators on Fux News and CNN
and the freepers used to ridicule the war protestors with the "NO BLOOD FOR OIL SIGNS" as being totally clued out as to why Iraq had to be invaded and Saddam overthrown. Everyone except the naive peaceniks knew it wasn't anything to do with oil at all. It was all about getting rid of an evil-doing dictator who wouldn't give up his WMDs and would use them to attack America and it's allies if he wasn't stopped before it was too late. Why George, Dick, CondiLIEza, Rummy and Colin all said this was so, and they'd never lie to the American people.

Remember to refer any of your repub friends to this guy, one of their own, when they try to rationalize their way to their fake patriotism as they drive their 12 mpg SUV's around town.

to die for oil!

After all, we couldn't DEFEND AMERICA if we had no oil! How'd we drop bombs on innocent men, women & children if we had no oil!

bush is PROTECTING us all by sending American kids to DIE FOR OIL!

RAH RAH RAH!

11. Unfortunately you're exactly right... I've already read pieces
by neo-con cheerleaders who have made the point that there will be such a struggle for energy resources over the next century that it will "force" us into conflicts with China, Russia, India, etc etc...

What I love most about this is the consistent derision that is given to the fact that China will be greatly seeking to (gasp, shudder, horror)increase its energy consumption for its >1 billion citizenry (how dare those evil commies). This coming from authors who make NO apologies for our nation, comprising of 5% of the population, making up 25% of the world's consumption. Our arrogance about this alone is seemingly enough for many other nations to begin to turn on us.
