Atria Books Acquires Memoir by Peace Activist Cindy Sheehan

NEW YORK, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Executive Vice President and Publisher Judith Curr announced today that Atria Books will publish a memoir by noted peace activist Cindy Sheehan, to be released in September 2006. Senior Editor Peter Borland acquired World English rights to Ms. Sheehan's book from literary agents David Vigliano and Elisa Petrini of Vigliano Associates.

Since her son Casey's death in Iraq on April 4, 2004, Cindy Sheehan has become internationally recognized as a leader in the peace movement. Her book will take readers behind the headlines to share the wrenching, yet profoundly inspiring story of how she put aside despair over her son's death, and took on the mission of speaking truth to power in the Congress, in front of the Pentagon and the White House, and on President George W. Bush's personal doorstep with her Camp Casey protest in Crawford Texas.
