WOO HOO! Cafferty reporting on Neil Young's new album
Edited on Mon Apr-17-06 04:14 PM by Atman
But bitch slapping him at the same time for being a hypocrite. He metioned Neil's "Let's Roll" album, and his support of Bush after the start of the war. But he also mentioned his seminal anti-war song, "Ohio."

Jack's question of the day is, essentially, "Do you give a rat's ass what Neil Young thinks?"

1. Better yet, do we give a "rat's ass" what Jack Cafferty thinks?

2. Actually, in some small way, yes.
Cafferty is the only voice of reason left at CNN. He's their token liberal sympathizer now. And he actually made some good points about Young's hypocrisy, that this was the same artist who couldn't jump on the Bush band-wagon fast enough, way back when. Now he's devoted an entire album to Bush's war. Who else is even asking the question? Cafferty is as close to "relevence" as you'll ever find on CNN. Which is why they only give him five minutes a day!

4. Quite a few people jumped on that bandwagon, including a...
...large majority of posters on the DU boards. I don't think any less of them, or Neil Young, for discovering later that they had been very wrong.

7. I was dismayed at the time but have since thought "Let's Roll"
is similar to "Ohio" in that after the students were shot, Young basically retreated into the woods and came out with that song. Probably did something similar, figuratively or literally, after 9-11.

8. I totally agree ...
I was just at thismodernworld.com and he did a post on Dan Savage and the ITMFA. He posted a column from 2002 where Dan talks about the lefties whining about attacking Iraq and how it'll breed terrorists, etc are wrong.

It's valid to bring it up. Glad both have smartened up.

5. At least Neil admits he was wrong. That's refreshing.
I was SOOOO pissed at him for that "Roll" business.

6. Ditto.
I have respect for someone that can admit when they were wrong, and tries to correct the situation.
