Shouldn't Fred Phelps be celebrating instead of protesting at funerals? |
|
What is he protesting? I have seen his website from what I read he believes the United States should live under a set of laws he has come up with based on racism, sexism and homophobia. He believes the United States is in a state of evilness because we do not live under such laws. And that the members of the military are helping this "evil." According to Phelps it is a good thing when they die.
So why would he protest at their funerals? What is he protesting? Why would he not be having a celebration at their funerals? Why does he not show up with a party hat and music to celebrate something that is occurring because of something he feels is a good thing, the death of an American service member?

that's why it's hated and feared, as are those stricken with it.

2. Some people just didn't get enough attention as kids |
|
and that's the only way to explain Fred Phelps. (OK, maybe a little food poisoning or something...)

3. Because it wouldn't garner as much attention |

more people might see him for what he is.
BTW, some cultures do celebrate the passing of a loved one. They see it as the time of reunion of the soul with the One Being. Sufis call this the Urs, or Wedding Night-although we don't wear party hats, we have been known to dance as we celebrate the life of one who has gone to join the Beloved.

7. I think it's because he knows he would get killed |
|
I think he uses the term "protest" to try to align what he is doing with something most Americans feel is a basic right. The fact is he is not protesting, it would be like the anti-choice people "protesting" the overturning of Roe.

That's why he has to lash out with his self hating crap on grieving families. If Phelps really was as patrotic as he claims how come he never enlisted?

8. He should be gargling with gasoline and smoking road flares. |

But I guess he has to wait his turn for his own private hell.
