and speaking of the "American Way of Life" . . . |
|
that BushCo seems so intent on protecting, the bottom line is that said "American Way of Life" is over, done with, finished . . . we WILL come to the realization -- at some point -- that we're going to have to do things differently to preserve not only our nation, but the planet itself . . . things like . . .
- weaning ourselves off fossil fuels - abandoning the meat-based diet - recycling ALL resources - strictly regulating corporations - developing new jobs in new, environmentally-friendly industries - raising taxes to provide necessary services, including a real safety net for the least of us . . . - accepting our new role as an equal partner (rather than an controlling empire) in world affairs . . .
and on, and on, and on . . . the change is coming . . . we just haven't accepted it yet . . . and the longer we wait, the tougher it's going to be on everyone . . .

I'm definitely preparing to hunker down. Planning a garden for the first time in years, aquiring books that are going to come in handy, remembering all the things my Grandparents used to do to save money.
My biggest fear is the reactions of the sheeple. I'm even making contigency plans to get out of the city.
I sound like a paranoid, but I just have to go with my gut on this one.
