House Republicans are falling into the trap of their own arrogance
Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 06:59 AM by Walt Starr
and it's a beautiful thing.

Number One House GOP Criminal has decided to resign, and who is his replacement? Roy Blunt, the Number Three House GOP Criminal. Blunt is up to his eyeballs in the Abramoff scandal and it will work to the Democratic Party's advantage when the investigation starts showing that.

So who the hell decided to replace the Number One House GOP Criminal with the Number Three House GOP Criminal?

None other than the Number Two House GOP Criminal, Dennis Hastert!

This is going to be fun to watch!

2. Just reading this- I couldn't help thinking of the endless line of
#2's in Al Qaeda. There appears to be an endless string of evildoers in the republican regime. It will be tough to know when we have the last terrorist to our democracy.
The war on terror is right here; let's quit looking over there.

3. Well, they've got a dilemma, don't they?
This is a group that only promoted or appointed their loyal cronies because they wanted the status quo unchallenged. So, they hand the reigns of power to anybody outside that inner circle and they know it's going to be a free fall to the big house.

I guess that means they're between the proverbial rock and a hard place.

4. There Are Some Other Crooks To Watch
I couldn't believe I heard some wingnut telepundit mention Jerry Lewis' name in a leadership role. (No not the "Hey Ladeeeee, Jerry Lewis). His chances will be flushed the moment Duekstir's wire starts to sing

Boenner? A Gingrich accolyte who pissed of DeLay and got back benched? Yeah, he's gonna unite all those Abramoff Repugnicans...

Hastert...as always...is fully clueless. The reason this human debris serves in the Speaker's role is not for his leadership ability, but cause he was such a good toady for DeLay. Look at the stupid things Hastert does (let's flatten NOLA, priority to investigate "ethics") when he's off script. He was supposed to be the "kindly grandfather" look...the good guy to DeLay's bad guy. Now without DeLay, Hastert's toast. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first of several leadership shake-ups.

Remember, as long as DeLay remains in the House, he remains a power. He's not disgraced, he's trying to take his operation back underground again...salvage what is left and continue to use his money and power to push people around.

I'm off for more

5. I heard on the Al Frankin show yesterday that Bob Ney was
assigned to give the ethics training to incoming Freshmen and that DeLay is going to take up a seat on the House appropriations committee. So the repukes have learned nothing from this Abramoff scandal. It is corrupt business as usual in Congress.

6. Exactly. The repukes are hoping they can sweep this story under the rug
by November, but they're going to extend this story for YEARS. It sounds like Ney will be indicted in the near future. As soon as they vote in Blunt, he'll be indicted. After that, Hastert will go down and should we mention all the OTHERS in Congress involved in this who may very well be indicted? Yeah, this is going to be fun to watch.

9. And then you have the "as yet undiscolsed" scandals
You just know there are more brewing under the pond scum that's already risen to the top.

7. But wait. This is the GOP. How many #2 criminals are there?
There could be hundreds. Some could be missing one or both legs. Some could be dead, then mysteriously still alive. You just don't know.

8. I thought it was especially amusing that Hastert rushed back
to Washington to draft a bill to clean up lobbying. Do they allow you to keep your laptop in prison??
