Keith Olbermann will repeat in the AM now! |
|
thanks to liberal viewership like many here, keith's show is growing in the ratings ... and that's catching the execs' attention...
============== Counting Down Again In The Morning MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann will re-air at 9 a.m. beginning next Tuesday, Rick Kaplan announced in a memo today. He's calling it a "sample" for viewers who currently watch MSNBC Live after Imus in the Morning.
Kaplan writes: "Beginning next Tuesday, we're going to give our morning viewers a chance to sample a program they may not have had the opportunity to watch. Countdown will get an additional re-air at 9am on weekdays. It is, after all, a program about 'the stories you'll be talking about tomorrow,' so it should be a natural fit."
Spud at ICN hates the idea: "It's bad enough that MSNBC can't compete directly with FNC and CNN in the mornings with live news because Imus is on. To delay the start of live news to 10 am further undermines MSNBC’s credibility as a cable news network..."

would take the place of that coke head , self serving piece of trash.
Sells all his productgs and his camp and promotes the book sales of his buddies that kiss up to him.

39. Not to mention the racist overtones |
|
caught one of his caucasion cronies impersonating New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin the other morning, and I couldn't help to think was the KKK allowed on TV?!? Wish Imus would go back to AM radio with all the other racist talk show hosts.

And most days I'll get to have breakfast in bed with him.
Did I just say that out loud? Oh well, I know KO and I won't be alone.

6. Will it still repeat at Midnight? Anyone know? |
|
I'm glad to hear Keith is going to be on in the AM too, but I don't want to loose that Midnight airing. Many times, if I cannot watch the 8PM show, it's no big deal because I know I can still catch it at Midnight.

but I can't help getting the mental image of Mr. Potato Head. I have three siblings, so our Mr. Potato Head toy got a lot of use and his ears and eyes tended to fall out a lot. Maybe Spud has the same problem?

21. They should have taken the hint on his popularity when |
|
we got him voted as Playgirl's Sexiest Newscaster over Anderson Cooper...if that didn't tell them how popular he was, I don't know what else would have....
I just wish they would replace Imus with him, but I'll still have time before going to work to catch half of it (again, since I watch 2 times at night)....I think his catching on will show that there is money to be made in Liberal (truthful)press and TV...

People who catch Countdown in the AM will be inspired to watch in the evening instead, when the news is fresher. Eat your heart out, Ted Baxter!
I predict big things for this show and for KO. He is one step ahead of the curve - just the right man for the current Zeitgeist.

Maybe Kaplan is beginning to realize there are other points of view out here in the real world. Not everyone wants to set their alarm clock so they can watch yet another "reporter" standing up to their eyeballs in White House BS.

40. The NBC brass almost got it right |
|
I made this suggestion a few weeks ago. Not everyone has cable news, or would think to turn it to MSNBC. If they had the repeat on NBC, they could use it as a teaser to introduce potential viewers to MSNBC.

41. I think this is significant |
|
It's great in and of itself, but it's significant because it bucks the several year trend of news networks moving to the right. And they go where they think the viewers are, which means the viewers are ready to swing back.
It always bugged me that other, more rightwing, shows on MSNBC were broadcast twice in good time slots - Matthews is on and then an hour later, on again. Keith had a good slot for his show, but a lousy repeat slot. As Keith was the only guy left of center left with a show since Ron Reagan got dumped, it stunk. But 9 am? That's a good slot!
I agree that live news shouldn't be delayed another hour, though. Give Keith an hour of Imus' time. One less hour of the collection of rightwing nutballs featured on his show would be no loss to anyone.
