"I'm the decider..."

Gods.

THIS is the man with his finger on the nuke button. A stuffed chimp jumping up and down on a pile of bananas, wound up and ready to press entirely, yes, ENTIRELY on the grounds that other people think he shouldn't.

The DECIDER.

I shouldn't be amazed. Not really. Politicans can't be relied on to do the right thing in the end, can they? It just goes to show that their priorities aren't the same as ours.

>shakes head in disappointment and amazement<

1. It's a short leap from "Don Rumsfeld's doing a fine job..."
to, "Don Rumsfeld needs to find a job." Keep hoping.

2. W is the decider - most of them bad however.
He decided to invade Iraq without even a plan as to how to rebuild it.

He decided to favor corporations and destroy the environment

He decided to run up the largest deficit in our history to pad the pockets of the wealthiest among us ie Dick Cheney.

He decided to enjoy a fund raising trip while he let New Orleans drown

He decided to lie to Americans instead of level with them.

He decided to out a CIA agent because he was mad someone disagree with him

He decided to waste any good will America had after 9-11 by being an arrogant bully.

He decided to play partisan politics instead of uniting Americans to solve problems.

He decided to do nothing after 9-11 to build our security accept to expand his own power.

He decided he was not accountable to the constitution.

He is definitely the decider in chief.

4. Are we missing the elephant in the room? "I hear the voices..."
After all, didn't "God" tell him to invade Iraq? (not to mention how bad God's pre-war intel must have been...)

What are the voices saying?

Who are the voices? Where are they coming from?

Do you see the things behind the voices, George, or do you just hear them?

Are they male? Female? Do they speak English?

Are they under the bed? Did you check under the bed? Better look under the bed!

Seriously, George, maybe it's the wail of the 1000s of souls you've consigned to death in the last 5 years.

Or, maybe it's just your conscience talking.

Most likely, though, it's just good ol' Karl whispering into your ear-piece to "just listen to his commands, talk slowly, and stop making up words..."

5. "....and I decide what's best..."
Experts on mass psychology are writing his tidbits. These remarks are supposed to convince the public that he's a strong Daddy.
It's vomit-worthy.

6. It's revolting. It's crude, manipulative, sly, creepy

stupid-sounding, meaningless, empty of content... and I can't convince myself that he thinks any different.

Uhhhhh.... and this fucker has his pissing FINGER on the pissing BUTTON.

9. Not only does he have his finger on the button.......
he's surrounded by people telling him that he's a great leader! Maybe the greatest president in history! Chosen by God and A MAN OF DESTINY!

Somebody was quoted on Msnbc a few days ago who heard bush declare:

Iraq's a mess for somebody else to clean up.....but I'm committed to dealing with Iran before I go, nobody else has what it takes, (or maybe "I'm the only one who has the stuff to do what it takes" Anyway, words to that effect. In the sense of guts or balls or whatever)

Sure he believes it. Every word. It's a nightmare.

10. If this man really does drop the bomb

Assuming there isn't an immediate "frank exchange of views" thereafter, I'm uncertain what he thinks is going to happen.

Is he thinking beyond the explosion at ALL?

This administration doesn't have much foresight. As for nukes, for all I know bush may think we are in the End Times and a world war is inevitable in the near future. If he's really a believer in the fundy brand of weird, apocalyptic theories, that might tend to make him think that bombing won't cause problems unless Jesus is ready to come back. In which case, he might not feel there is anything to lose.

The fundies' obsession with Israel being the key that ties all this apocalyptic stuff together, worries me in the context of any perceived 'threat' against Israel. The fundies have bush's ear, they are no doubt hysterical about Iran. It's hard to tell how deep this nonsense runs with him, as far as applying it to his daily 'reality'. Fundy religion may be only a parallel mental world with bush, as religion is with many people, instead of a motivating conviction in geopolitics. Trouble is, he's too stupid to examine anything very deeply, as far as sorting out his impressions of whether or not Iran is a 'threat'.

Anyway, he may very well think bunker-buster nukes are a safe, reasonable, and environmentally gentle response to Iran's new program. He doesn't get very good advice on this stuff. He gets it from Cheney and Rumsfeld, who have their own agenda. And he hasn't got any damn sense or curiosity or contact with anybody outside the circle. Also, he's a mulish asshole. Recipe for disaster.
